Debating is about persuasion.
I find Cruz boring and slimey in debate.
I find Trump to be sincere and compelling in debate.
I think Trump beat Cruz in every single debate this year. Many others agree with me. I think Trump is more effective at persuasion, which is key to politics.
But your mileage may vary.
I thought Mr. Trump was excellent in the debate when he said he would save 300 billion a year by making a deal with the evil pharma industry. I mean, that was a magical moment!
There is some truth in what you say. Trump is a fantastic salesman. He has sold himself to a plurality of right of center voters. That is one helluva persuasive guy considering his Manhattan roots.
