Another endorsement for Cruz!

As for a debasement of the presidency by Trump’s slanging matches about penis size, that sorry process was initiated by a Democrat, Bill Clinton, who chatted about his underwear on TV, let Hollywood pals jump up and down on the bed in the Lincoln Bedroom, and played lewd cigar games with an intern in the White House offices.

Every Republican should memorize this passage to throw back at Dems when the subject comes up.

Obviously I don’t agree with her about Cruz, but I do agree with her about Trump. And I agree that her view of Cruz is how most Democrats will see him.

She expresses well the root of Trump’s attraction, and exactly why so many Democrats and otherwise apolitical people will be drawn to vote for him, if he is the nominee. I believe if Cruz is the nominee Hillary loses, but if its Trump, Hillary loses big. Trump will draw cross-over votes in a way that Cruz will not.

Aside from all the hate in this article, Trump does have gravitas because of his age, height, personality, business and entertainment record. He’s an old bull dominating the field while the youngsters run around trying to gain attention.

Trump, a twice-divorced New York billionaire casino owner, is close to sweeping Dixie, so obviously Paglia isn't alone in finding Cruz to be off-putting.

He's still young. He needs to go back to the Senate and continue to build his record.

Cruz’s lugubrious, weirdly womanish face, with its prim, tight smile and mawkishly appealing puppy-dog eyebrows, is like a waxen mask, always on the verge of melting. This guy doesn’t know who the hell he is—and the White House is no place for him and us to find out...

LOL!! Dang, that's brutal! (True, but brutal)

Camille Paglia is supporting Bernie???

Who takes voting advice from the ungodly? Christians will have to give an account of their voting, too.

I was for Cruz first, until Trump entered the race. then I was hoping for Trump.Cruz...

But Cruz really has turned me off with his bible thumping speeches lately. He sounds like a profit-preacher.

I don’t want to go to Salon but I agree Donald Trump is a mensch who has used a bit of brashness to save himself millions of dollars in ads, which I think is fair and smart.

Per contrast, see Bush, Heb!, who wasted millions to slide down to bottom place.

And as for Cruz: I have spoken to many people about him, and no one likes m. Except people who are politically blind and see only that his supposed religion matches theirs. But plenty of deeply devout Christians also see him as phony. The eyebrows alone, when he does that thing with his face: he raises his eyebrows and makes a sad droop for a mouth and thst is supposed to be his holy pity face. I love religion and I hate when it’s used to trick people. Sorry. I feel he is not who I thought he was before the election. DEMONSTRATE BY YOUR LIFE your religion. Don’t hit people over the head with your piety and demonstrate small-mindedness instead.

Quietly Trump helps individuals. He puts on a reality show that is, in the end, all about charity. No other show gives that kind of money to helping people who need help. I have heard and read stories of his private generosity.

At my father’s funeral this week, I met a man from DC who is a military bigwig (and voting Rubio at the time). He told me he has met Cruz and he knows people who work with him, and though he doesn’t like Donald Trump, he does say that he is right about Cruz: no one who knows him likes him. He is unpleasant and has very low social skills.

At least Trump knows how to make people feel comfortable with him, get them to trust him. Our very lives may depend on our leaders’ ability to negotiate (and to know when not to negotiate but to command). I don’t think Cruz has that ability at all.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, whose every word and policy statement on the campaign trail are spoon-fed to her by a giant paid staff and army of shadowy advisors

Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton have ever given a speech or answered a question without first filtering the contents through polls, focus groups, and various PR advisors. The difference is that Bill could deliver the material in a natural-sound way, which his worse half cannot do.

Trump's authenticity will be his ticket to beating Hillary in November, since even most liberals don't like her enough to turn out and vote for her (many Sanders supporters have said that they wouldn't). Come to think of it, the only people enthusiastic about Hillary's candidacy are geriatric feminists (their younger versions prefer Bernie).

The left thinks Trump is more beatable then Cruz. Expect more “analysis” like this. Nothing from Salon is not politically motivated.

Cruz is a ham actor, doling out fake compassion like chopped liver whose unctuous, vainglorious professions of Christian piety don’t pass the smell test. Cruz has a weirdly womanish face, with its prim, tight smile and mawkish fluctuating puppy-dog eyebrows.....

This guy Cruz doesn’t know who the hell he is—and the White House is no place for him and us to find out. ...

Thank you Camille...my thoughts precisely. The Oval Office is no place to find your human potential.
