Hillary Clinton insisted Wednesday night that she would not be indicted over her email controversy, firing back at debate moderators who asked whether she would drop out of the contest under those circumstances.
"Oh for goodness, that is not going to happen," Clinton said. "I'm not even answering that question."

Republicans have made Clinton's use of a personal email server during her time as President Barack Obama's secretary of state a cornerstone in their argument that she is not qualified to be president.
The FBI is currently investigating whether Clinton's use of the server broke any laws.
The Democratic Party now despises a Democracy. How ironic is that?
Given Obunghole and the Just Us dept., she may be right. But some day she WILL give account....before a greater JUDGE.
The attorney general would have to review the evidence from the FBI investigation, then if she’s allowed to, a US attorney would file charges. Then it would be presented to a grand jury. I’m guessing a grand jury wouldn’t be called just for Hillary. They use one that was already called or on call. It’s the grand jury that indicts based on the evidence.
If Hillary gets the Petraeus treatment, charges will never be filed. She and her lawyer will go to a meeting, probably for days, where the evidence is reviewed. Following that Hillary will have to accept certain conditions to get a plea bargain. Once that’s agreed on, the whole mess goes before a judge who will probably adhere to the plea bargain and sentence her.
Given the magnitude of her criminal acts, I think she has two choices: get really sick, as an excuse, and disappear from public view or take a dirt nap. Actually the dirt nap may come as a surprise.
Where is the outcry for an independent prosecutor?
I agree, but I think both parties are fatigued with independent prosecutors. This is the perfect situation because it involves felony criminal acts that are apolitical, but the decisions about what to do about the findings will be very political.
Unlike many on here I just don’t see this issue going away. Beyond the classified information investigation is the public corruption investigation - i.e. Company A donates large amount of money to Clinton Foundation and lo and behold, Secretary of State Clinton makes favorable ruling for Company A that results in large contract. Many suspected this was happening, but other dismissed it as politics. It is very interesting that prior to the completion of the classified info investigation the FBI allegedly assigned an unprecedented number of corruption investigators to this separate probe....... after they got access to the deleted emails.
We will see how it plays out, but even if she were not indicted it will be very damaging - especially if she faces Trump.
Quite!
But, after all the kicking and screaming, the deck is stacked in her favor.
I really wonder how much of her foundation money has been re-routed to take care of those with tweaky consciences?
We're either a nation of laws or we are not.
Grand Jury.
Special Prosecutor.
Indictment for said charges.
Waiting for Comey's announcement and recommendations to Loretta Lynch.
I think this is all orchestrated and scripted. Somewhere about a month away from the Democratic Convention...she’ll get the indication of an indictment, and have to walk away. Some joker will show up....deliver a speech at the open convention, and the Bernie crowd will go ballistic that it was so easily done. Obama will give her some pardon by the time he exits and it’s all fixed up. I think even Republican senators are in on the ‘fix’.
Not while Obama and Lynch can stonewall everything.
Obama and more particularly Lynch have assured her that nothing untoward to her election will happen. Comey is likely to resign or be fired before November.
Yeah, remember when we thought “travel gate” was inexcusable corruption?
Despite his visceral hatred of Hillary, Obama is a socialist quasi Marxist ideolog. If he thinks Hillary can win the election he will not let the Attorney General Loretta Lynch indict Hillary. Lynch though independent will do his bidding because she is also the same ideolog as Obama and Hillary.
Hillary based on recent events in Michigan and polling is a very weak candidate. Obama knows this and will stop her run for the nomination. Hillary will drop out due to health reasons or be indicted.
Hello Joe Biden or Bloomberg and Bernie Sanders does not even count.
Just remember, this is the party controlled by the hippies from the 60s who only wanted to look out for the little guy and take down the “man”. What a bunch of sell outs and utter hypocrites as they circle the wagons around a person who makes Nixon look like a choir boy. Meanwhile, we have to put up with their insufferable preaching about “judging” them. A more intellectually bankrupt party has not come along in ages in our country. Dem voters, sigh ...
YEP
I didn't know something like that was imminent. We already know what the Foundation did and breezed through it, and I don't know about bribery.
We shall see.
On another tack, I happen to be watching a video of Bernie. Tulsi Gabbord introduced him. The crowd went wild. She is a beautiful woman and only talked about wars.
Bernie I cannot support, sorry, Bernie, you bashed Republican family values. Maybe you should look at your family values. It's an insult. And he is a true believer in climate change but not in God. Can't take him.
He's wowing the crowd though, and the tide could be turning against Hillary. DU is talking (just a couple voices) as Tulsi for VP which could lead to her becoming the first woman president. Shrug.
It's always discouraging when people blindly follow her.
Now (it's not live) Bernie is talking about birthers and color of skin. Obama's father born in Kenya. Bernie's in Poland. "Nobody is asking me for my birth certificate."
