What part of stopping illegal immigration, finishing the wall, keeping terrorists out, lowering taxes, and getting a fair handle on corrupt trade deals are liberal?
I am not against Cruz but he won't be able to get things done....we NEED to get done.
The above essay explains my reasoning. But let me add to it a personal observation, based on many decades of working with hard core American Conservatives. We almost all go through a process, similar to what I believe Donald Trump is going through now, where we sort out our thinking, eliminating views that we have picked up from those around us; gradually working towards a consistent political & social philosophy.
While many of us had our sorting out in our school days; it really depends on where are primary focus lies. Those who are not primarily focused on politics, history and statecraft may never have the focus required to sort the wheat from the chaff. There are admittedly many instinctive Conservatives, who we fail to reach. But Trump's wake-up process could be the key to reaching many others, at this time.
If nothing else, he has gotten the attention of a lot of prospects, and we need to run with them, as they awaken to our purpose.
