In the immediate aftermath of Donald Trumps solid and convincing performance on Super Tuesday, his enemies (who are my enemies by extension) started churning out desperate essays bemoaning the coming end of America.
Some of the more telling headlines screamed: Heres how Rubio and Cruz can still take down Trump; Lindsey Graham: Oh God, We Might Have To Back Ted Cruz To Save Our Party; Trump is the next Barack Obama; and my favorite considering the source: Mitt Romneys top strategist says Hillary Clinton would be a better president than Donald Trump.
These people are joined by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell, both of whom are making believe they have not heard Trumps complete repudiation of the KKK and are moaning about No nominee of our Party can stand for these things or some such nonsense. These liars know otherwise but cant think of anything else to attack Trump with.
So what are the chances that these Saviors of America will see Trump taken down?
The exit polls from Super Tuesday say, Slim to none.
Some of the data points show real trouble for those who want Trump stopped.
As in all other states where these polls have been taken, almost 60% of Republicans feel betrayed by their Party. This means when Trump wins it all he will have done so BECAUSE of GOP attacks not just in spite of them.
The bogus claims that Trump appeals to a narrow segment of Republicans who are not really conservatives was once again proved wrong. Forty percent of the Super Tuesday Republican voters called themselves very conservative and another 38% somewhat conservative. Trump won most of those states. When lumped together and all states are included, Trump won every category of voter possible.
Even among Cruzs strongest supporters the Evangelicals...

Hopefully some politicians will join the winning team.
The Establishment boat is sinking.
What's up with the snow?
If We the People can put Trump in the White House, We the People can replace Establishment politicians at the snap of a finger.
Politicians are not idealogs, they are corrupt profiteers.
They need to be in office to reap the benefits.
They fall in line or get replaced.
I posed the question: If Trump wins and a year from now is starting to build the wall along the Texas border, will the Junior Senator be helping him or fighting him?
In other words, if Trump wins, all of the GOP Congressmen have a decision to make.
Isn’t this a blog of one FR freepers? I seem to remember having a conversation with him at one time.
jmaroneps37 I think is his name.

Like on a 747-200...
[If We the People can put Trump in the White House, We the People can replace Establishment politicians at the snap of a finger.]
That is EXACTLY why they are so afraid of Trump winning the Presidency, because they will be on notice for all the crap they pull, and they won’t change!
Even so-called “conservatives” like this Sasse clown are afraid of the end the gravy train, despite what he says to the contrary.
“...If We the People can put Trump in the White House, We the People can replace Establishment politicians at the snap of a finger...”
If only “We” would. The general perception of the average voter seems to be, “My congress-critter is fine, it’s your congress-critter that needs to go!” If the voters were so reliable, how do you explain looooong seated idjits like Graham, McConnell, McCain, etc?
(hint: the problem is not neccessarily the congressman, perhaps it’s the voter?)
But that’s beside the point — If Trump is inevitable, has anyone pondered what congress will want in return for advancing Trump’s agenda? Trump needs the cooperation of congress to advance his agenda. Congress needs Trumps signature to enact the laws they want (unless we have a veto-proof majority on whatever issue is at stake, which ain’t likely).
So, what would Trump give up in exchange for advancing his signature issue (illegal immigrants)?
Would he trade further infringement on speech? Religion? Guns? Taxes? Property Rights? Is there a line he has said he will not cross?
I’d like to seem them go on Trump’s new reality show to see who gets to keep their job.
I think that some of the negative crap was effective, but I am not for sure for how long. I do know that we ain’t seen nothin’ yet. We can expect another barrage at the upcoming debate and in the days after. I do believe that after the 15th we will be seeing a change in tactics if his momentum is not stopped. We are seeing cracks but the Cruz team and the establishment have not given up yet as we have seen in every thread this morning.
There will be hundreds of millions of precious Republican dollars spent trying to destroy Trump that would have been better spent trying to destroy Hillary. This has really been an eye opener.
To me the biggest shock has been someone who claims to be the most conservative willing to lie and cheat at every opportunity. But it probably shouldn’t have been... Cruz comes from a family where both his mother and father had drinking problems, he was arrested for underage drinking, had trouble with drinking in college and beyond. Recently he described himself to Anderson Cooper as a “Scotch Man” although he said he also loved Whisky and other hard liquors. I have never known a hard drinking politician who wasn’t also a liar. I am surprised that the fools who have been taken in by him do not see a problem with his drinking.
...ahhh
First, thanks for the well though out response.
I believe Trump has done so well in part because of his use of social media.
His message is reaches the electorate despite the MSM firewall.
If Trump can take his arguments directly to the people bypassing the MSM filter, he can force votes in his favor with minimal ground.
It's all negotiation and that is what Trump does BEST.
Looks like they were shooting a movie...or some Crazy Dave type thing. Not a real suicide.
He is a liar. He looked Chris Wallace in the eye and told a flat out lie.
“...If Trump can take his arguments directly to the people bypassing the MSM filter, he can force votes in his favor with minimal ground...”
With the GOP circling their wagons and talking brokered convention and pundits hinting that they would accept Hilary to avoid cleaving the GOP — all despite Trump’s vote percentages showing he is clearly becoming the inevitable choice of the electorate — I don’t think the GOP gives a dang that the voters may flood the phones, emails and faxes for a day or three every once in a while.
Plus, like I mentioned, the voters have not seen fit to punish RINOs by voting them out. Quite the contrary, “We” have trained RINOs that they can get away with all manner of capitulation to the lib agenda and all we will do is fuss a bit, then we will keep re-electing RINOs. I will be pleasantly shocked if that changes after Trump.
So all in all, I don’t know that any of us has an answer and my question was more rhetorical than anything. We won’t know until after the General election. Sounds a bit like Pelosi’s, “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it”, but in this case, we have to elect Trump to find out what he’s willing to trade in his negotiations. I hope it’s not more Sotomayors and Kagens.
