Hmm, I see your tagline says Cruz and Rubio are amnesty pimps. Did you somehow miss hearing Trump say he would deport those who are here illegally, then bring back the ‘good ones’ and expedite the process for them? Jealous of Rubio’s good looks, I see.

So you wouldn’t like to have stronger laws to protect against that kind of stuff?

Good god, of course not. When did Freepers start wanting speech codes? You sound like the college kids wanting safe zones. Politics is tough, people will attack your family. If you're going to play in that ring, get a helmet and some balls.

And Mike Wallace had a nervous breakdown because of it. Apparently he was able to dish it out but couldn’t take it in.

I think I am paying attention.
If Trump gets his way ,and he is a public figure and judge Alito is a public figure. Then when Trump said in the debate three times that Judge Alito signed the same bill that his sister did - then that was a knowingly false statement intended to harm.
Should he be successfully sued for that?
His proposed change in libel law would allow it.

The subject is journalistic lies. You are allowing your hatred for an alpha male to crowd out common sense. Too used to wimps playing around and leading people by the nose with their lies?
Trump has too much demand on his time to not use lawyers when necessary. Anyone in business does. i think Trump has some of Patton’s qualities. i expect him to break some things for the good of the country.

‘If I become president, oh do they have problems.’ It is about time someone in leadership takes on Jeff Bezzos, the punk from Seattle who spends millions on breaking the traditional marriage.

Trump will hopefully learn how to become a strong leader like Pope John Paul II and promote the Culture of Life.

He is proposing changing the libel laws so that the criteria for libel apply equally to all persons. Currently, if the court declares that you are a “public figure” the law is different for you than it is for someone else.

BTW: Donald Trump’s sister testified in support of Judge Alito’s confirmation. She was, at one time, his boss.

Thank you for joining us, Judge Barry, and we look forward to
your testimony.
STATEMENT OF MARYANNE TRUMP BARRY, JUDGE, U.S.
COURT OF APPEALS FOR THE THIRD CIRCUIT, PHILADELPHIA,
PENNSYLVANIA
Judge BARRY. Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Good afternoon. Good
afternoon, members of the Committee. It is my privilege to appear
before you and it is a particular privilege to speak on behalf of my
friend and colleague, Judge Samuel Alito.
Now, I warn you, I may be a little free and call him ‘‘Sam’’ on
occasion because Judge Alito and I go back almost 30 years, to
1977. In 1977, Judge Alito came to the United States Attorney’s Office
in the District of New Jersey following his clerkship with
Judge Leonard Garth, who was and remains a giant on our court.
Sam was assigned—see, I did it—to the Appeals Division and I was
the chief of that division, although in those days, I didn’t have very
much more experience than he did. Now, I have said Appeals Division.
That sounds very much more substantial than it was for what
it was, the three Assistant United States Attorneys working very,
very hard at a very, very responsible job.
We handled all the criminal appeals of those defendants who
were convicted at trial. It was our job to master the record, to analyze
the issues, to read the relevant cases, to write a persuasive
brief on behalf of the United States, and, if necessary, to argue the
case on the floor of the Court of Appeals. Nobody did it better than
Sam Alito. And if there were any doubt on that score, the best evidence
is the fact that after just 4 years as an Assistant United
States Attorney, he went directly to the Office of the Solicitor General.
Only the best are able to do that.
For the next 6 years, Judge Alito distinguished himself with public
service in Washington, D.C., and then he returned to the District
of New Jersey in 1987 as the United States Attorney. Important
cases were brought on his watch, organized crime cases, drug
trafficking cases, public corruption cases. I know, because I was
there, and as a district court judge at that time, having been appointed
by President Reagan, I handled some of his more important
cases.
Now, I mentioned the cases that were handled on his watch for
another reason. The tone of the United States Attorney’s Office
comes from the top. The standard of excellence is set at the top.
Samuel Alito set a standard of excellence that was contagious, his
commitment to doing the right thing, never playing fast and loose
with the record, never taking a short cut, his emphasis on first-rate
work, his fundamental decency. The Assistant United States Attorneys
who worked for him were proud to do so. They admired him
completely.
Now, of course, in 1990, Judge Alito became Judge Alito, and you
have heard the most glowing things said about Sam as a colleague
on our court. I embrace every glowing statement.
Let me just conclude with this. Judge Alito is a man of remarkable
intellectual gifts. He is a man with impeccable legal credentials.
He is a fair-minded man, a modest man, a humble man, and
he reveres the rule of law. If confirmed, Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr.

Do you think Trump is going to issue an executive order reversing New York Times v. Sullivan?
Get a grip, boys. He’s just blowing off.

Exactly.

What’d they do to Dr. Ben Carson when he spoke out? Audited him with the intention of jailing him.

What’d they do when Dinesh D’Souza spoke out? Sent him to jail for a first offense. And how were they monitoring him to know about this offense?

Folks, Trump GETS IT. We are playing for keeps here.

You either fight the fight or you suspend your campaigns (Romney, McCain) inexplicably or change your vote (Justice Roberts) after being blackmailed.

Tea Party groups audited and threatened.

This is about control of the government and the money and military.

They will stop at NOTHING to keep control. Look for Romney to pop up as a 3rd party candidate to split the Republican vote and get Hillary in office.

Look for endorsements you never thought you’d see.

The Uniparty will NOT give up control easily.

I think I have found the “bill”, i.e. “case”, to which Donald Trump refers:

Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey v. Farmer, et. al., 220 F.3d 127 (3d Cir. 2000).
During the late 1990’s a number of different courts across the nation considered the constitutionality of state laws purporting to limit the constitutionally intact dilation and extraction procedures sometimes referred to by opponents as “partial birth abortion.” The Third Circuit considered such a law in New Jersey. After the Third Circuit opinion was drafted, but before it was issued, the Supreme Court issued its opinion in Stenberg v. Carhart (530 U.S. 914 (2000)) which struck down a late term abortion law very similar to the one at issue in New Jersey. As the Third Circuit had already determined that the law was unconstitutionally vague, they issued their opinion written by Judge Maryanne Trump Barry unchanged except to note, in the beginning of the opinion, the intervening opinion of the U.S. Supreme Court. The opinion is a lengthy discussion of the constitutional inadequacies of the New Jersey statute. Alito wrote separately to state that he believed that the whole majority opinion was “never necessary and is now obsolete.” 220 F.3d at 152. He would have preferred that the court simply hold that the New Jersey statute was unconstitutional because it did not contain an exception for situations in which the health of the mother was endangered as required by the Supreme Court in Stenberg v. Carhart and because the statute would have applied to more than just intact dilation and extraction.

Judges dont sign bills.
Trump misspoke.
Three times. The statements were false.
It could certainly be interpreted to have caused harm.
Under his proposal, he can be successfully sued.
I am sick to death of more suits. More laws, and more PC.
Trump is supposed to be the anti PC candidate. That is his shtick. This change in the law makes every public person be way more PC. Plain and simple

Apple and Facebook pay ZERO American taxes.

Amazon pays no taxes for most of what it sells.

Why?

They all own our politicians and want to continue doing so.

Why is Cruz’s wife making big bucks working for Goldman Sachs?

Coincidence?

Why is Hillary paid hundreds of thousands by them every time she gives a speech?

She’s good at speeches?

They are all OWNED by the open borders Uniparty that Trump is about to destroy.

Obama weaponized the IRS and who stopped him?

Hillary deleted documents and who stopped her?

We are already living in a Banana Republic, folks. Get real.

Yes, but lots of Freepers seem to love it. He's such an "alpha male".

Those Freepers I understand. The ones I don't understand are the ones who seem to want the same milquetoast country-clubbers in office that we've had for, oh, forever so that we can watch "our" side get sodomized daily in the public eye. What kind of people are those?
