I am, says Erick Erickson, and he's not alone. One of the chief coping mechanisms from righties on social media this weekend upon surveying the destruction in South Carolina was to swear they'll never be a Trumpist, even if the heavens fall. I believe Erickson, but I'd also bet cash money that 90 percent of the people saying "HELL NO NEVER HAPPEN" today will grudgingly come around over the next eight months upon being reminded, not on a daily but on an hourly basis, that Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who'd be in prison if not for her status as the creme de la creme of Washington's elites.
I'm not saying conservative revulsion at Trump isn't real. It is, and I think when it all shakes out in November that Trump will have seen more Republicans stay home for him than stayed home for either Romney or McCain. But I don't think there'll be a third party and I also don't think that some sliver of conservatives staying home will doom Trump's candidacy. Given Hillary's weakness and his own appeal to independents and Reagan Democrats, it's possible that he'd find the votes he needs to win in the center. That would be the final indignity to the conservative movement after having its impotence laid bare for more than a year -- staging a mass boycott of Trump on election day and discovering that Trump can win anyway...

>>>Tough decision.
Yes, which will expand government control over the economy the most. Which will be the biggest disaster to jobs and who will make the dumbest mistakes on foreign policy...
see my tag line. I will vote for the winner. period. end of story.
Please remember that sentiment if come October Trump has managed to win the nomination and all of the polls still show him losing to Hillary by significant margins. Just remember that you don't need the Cruzers, or the Bush supporters, or the Rubio supporters - Trump can win with less than half of the GOP and none of the Dems (Do you REALLY think enough Dems will vote for Trump to make up for all the conservatives he and his supporters have alienated?)
Yup. No place for trolls here.
I say let them dig their on holes, I won't help them dig it for them.
“Itâs a pick your disaster question.”
The way I see it, one (Hillary) is a guaranteed disaster, the other (Trump) is a potential disaster.
So I’m playing the odds and going with Trump.
I reported that troll.
That queer Erick Erickson declares he won’t vote for Trump because that is what his masters at Salem Media demand. It has nothing to do with his principles. He sold them a long time ago.
Sounds like you’ve reached the bargaining stage.
Even if the top two contenders made no difference at all, I’d still want to vote for the state and local candidates. We have to make or preserve as many of the non-federal offices as conservative as possible in order to keep the Federal government from completely taking over our lives.
Oh goody the DC establishment chimes in again
I’ve said Trump is my second choice for months now. It’s not my fault you’re not paying attention. I even sent pro-Trump articles to an early Trump supporter here before and after he announced. If you want, you can ask him.
Staying home is not the same as “none of the above”. You will get one or the other, “none” isn’t running.
Even if Trump were a liberal on everything else and just kept half of his promise on the illegals and the muslims, that alone would be a great service to the country.
Anybody who stays home this November is a dumbass.
Thanks for your reply.
>>”However, I know for certain that Hilary, while as SoS, gave access to the Russians the uranium on Americaâs soil.”
I don’t think Hillary is a Soviet agent. I think she thinks she’s making good decisions for the U.S. Horrible ones, but she thinks she’s right.
I think Trump would make horrible decisions as well, particularly economically, but in foreign affairs as well. Different decisions, but horrible as well.
They are both big government advocates. Both think in terms of government solutions instead of freedom.
I think both have little appreciation for the constitution and separation of powers; Trump likely less than Hillary.
So, for me, it’s a choice between disasters.
I do appreciate your thoughtful and courteous reply very much.
I’m sure as hell not Erickson.
Why stay home when you can write-in Ted Cruz
I’m for Cruz, but if Trump is the nominee I will certainly vote for him.
trump has to earn votes no one is obligated to vote Republican just because.
