The GOPe likes weak, malleable candidates to run against the DemocRATs; the person will do what they're told: attack the conservative Republican in the primary, flinch when hit by the Dem.
That's why they chose Romney, and it's why the nominee this year will likely be Jeb.

The last 7 years have taught me to be even more cynical. I can see Obama nominating the most radical judge he can find (Kamala Harris from CA would be an example) and then as the senate makes a weak jesture of opposition the media beats up on the nasty republicans so bad that Hillary wins the White House.
The result would be that Obama gets his way, then Ginsburg and maybe Kennedy retire in her first term giving liberals a 7 - 2 advantage. At that point we would have no more constitution and essentially no more country as we know it.

The Constitution is already in tatters. This country is like a worn out flag flapping in the breeze: someone could take us down, sew our stripes back together, maybe dye the red, white, and the blue, but we’re going to show the scars.
I believe our nation is lost, personally. The liberals won. They indoctrinated the youth with the idea that they’re owed everything and that they shouldn’t have to pay for anything. Anyone under the age of 30 today is so ingrained with liberal ideology that even if we win in November, future generations are not likely to play nice. We’re on the descent into European-style socialism.
I fear you are right. The liberals began working long ago, but went into hard pursuit of their goals in the 60s. They are aggressive, insatiable and attract the easily led weaker members of society by exploiting envy and jealousy. They are thinking several moves ahead politically; playing three dimensional chess while the rest of us play checkers.
While the country debated the morals of abortion they never anticipated 12 year old girls being able to arrange abortions at school without parental involvement - BUT, liberals did.
When people debated bi-lingual education they never anticipated matriculating an entire generation of latino kids through the school system without them learning English and being able to gain productive employment- BUT, liberals did.
Originally, most folks thought social welfare benefits being able to stabilize a family during periods of hard luck seemed reasonable. Who would have thought it would lead to the enslavement of much of a single race of people rendering them minimally productive, anti-social, effectively illiterate and almost totally dependent on government for generations to come? - LIBERALS did!
Affirmative action was once thought to be a leveler which would correct some of the wrongs done by the enslavement of welfare and thus allow many of those with lesser financial ability to take advantage of a higher education and create their own destiny through learning and by crossing over socially. WRONG: soon it was expanded to become it's own version of racism working to "get even" with perceived perpetrators of past injustices. In the beginning did the writers of that bill envision; Black Student Unions, Hispanic Congressional Caucus, social promotions and exam adjustments in hiring being applied to races seen as being less capable to the point they should be adjusted in order to give them jobs for which they aren't qualified? LIBERALS DID!
Everyone believes in a clean environment. When we joined the effort to protect our lands, our air and our water we never thought the movement would lead to taking land from private property owners or restricting what lane people could drive in. BUT LIBERALS did!
Compassionate people have always been disturbed by those who dropped out of productive society. Once called bums or hobos, they were given the politically correct designation of homeless and government agencies were created to provide for them - assistance, it was called. Did anyone really think a city like San Francisco would come to the point where it had an annual budget approaching ONE BILLION DOLLARS a year to: feed, cloth, coddle, provide needles for drug use and create a haven for addicts, scofflaws, felons, fugitives and illegal aliens who sleep in business doorways, urinate, defecate and have sex on public streets and hassle citizens? LIBERALS DID
We have no idea what they are already working on for our future, but it is not likely going to be good for our grand kids.
