The meaning of liberal has changed considerably from the 18th and 19th century opponents of authoritarians to the biggest proponents of authoritarianism in the US in the 20th and 21st centuries. Any author pretending otherwise is lying from the start.
The fact that you got this from Rush makes my point. It's not Rush's place to decide who's electable, it's the people's choice. If Rush sees the people supporting Trump, as they are, it's certainly not Rush's place to try to derail that because he thinks he knows better.
The real question is why was Rush propping up Rubio.
I think he’s more a global liberal-tarian these days. All the high profile “conservatives” are. They are all owned by the globalist ideology of multi-national corporations.
But conservatives are attached to America’s constitutional ideology and American interest which is in direct conflict with globalism - socially, politically and economically.
Limbaugh is about himself first. He has been on the airwaves how long now? And he NEVER takes a stand; he is about himself and his wealth. Good for him. Sorry for you for buying into the bullshit.

I have a suspicion Rush believes Trump is for single payer and not a true Regan Conservative. Very disappointing..... First time since 1992 haven’t listened regularly to his show.
You know you’re balanced when you take flack from all sides (i.e.: Rush). Unbalanced when you take it only on one side (i.e.: Levin).
Rush defends conservatives daily from unfair media attacks.
I don’t listen to his show but I don’t see him as anything but a hero and benefit for our side.
People gonna trash him for not endorsing their candidate, when he never endorses anyone?
Conservatives are like a circular firing squad, no one is going to want to enter the field cause everyone gets savaged even by their own.
