Then you haven't been listening. In fact, I've listened to him for 20 years and had to quit over this election. He criticizes Trump directly and indirectly on every show.
One of his favorite tricks these days is to get a caller who so wanted to support Trump but just can't because x. Rush knows who the callers are, they're screened. And he's been giving these callers extraordinary amounts of time.
Another tactic is tor criticize Trump's tactics on a regular basis, "Trump attacks from the left" "Trump crossed the line with x" etc.
Doesn't make me happy to say this. I'd much rather have Rush on our side but he's not helping us, he's splitting our vote.

Rush is too old to tap dance!! ok If Rush took one side or the other before the nominee was picked then He would be criticized by the other candidates followers. So he has decided to stand aside and let the voters choose.. Look at the drubbing that Mark Levin has taken here on FR.. He stood up for Cruz..So Rush says to himself that he won’t back anyone.. The only thing I’ve seen on his webpage is that he thinks there are 3 True Conservatives in the Fray for President Cruz, Rubio, Dr. Carson.. He considers Trump as a Populist candidate..
Rush skillfully tows the party line in regards to Liberal Interventionism. Trump and Paul are Isolationists and therefore persona non grata with neocons. Fox made the mistake of alienating Libertarians with its sarcastic Putin/Kohmanie neocon taunt. Rush wants to tippy-toe around all of that.

I have been listening to Rush regularly the last months. I am struck by how he defends most of the conservative candidates when they face groundless attacks. Many of the attacks here on FR against this candidate or that one, are exactly the type he defends against. Lots of the complaints aimed at Trump, Rubio and Cruz are to a large extent complaints over very little. Each is light-years better than Mrs. Clinton or Bernie Sanders. So is Fiorina.

And how, pray tell, did Rush come to this conclusion? It's sure not any inside knowledge he's shared on his show. In fact, Rush along with Hannity, Judge Jeanine, and others who have known Trump for years have said that Trump is a genuine, nice guy. Not a progressive, not a liberal. This from Rush's own mouth.

Those capable of critical thought understood long ago Limbaugh was little more than a mouthpiece for the establishment.

“True conservative” at this stage of the game is a revolutionary. Trump is the closest thing we have to a revolutionary at the moment. If he fails the consequences are going to be dire.
I haven’t listened to Rush lately, but who can out steal the Dems and win?
My bad, wrong word. What he is able to do is encourage Cruz and Rubio voters enough to split our vote. We've only survived because the establishment lane is still crowded. Once they thin that down to Bush, that will be our nominee because conservatives are incapable of implementing strategy.
After last night, Rubio is finished.
It doesn't take a genius to watch Trump denigrate peoples physical features, character, abilities and realize he's a phony.
Two issues illustrate Trump's liberalism. He doesn't want to defund planned parenthood and he loves eminent domain. Rush doesn't support Trump the way he supports Cruz or even Rubio. He knows Trump is unelectable. Trump raised a lot of issues that are important, but he is not the man to resolve them.
As a political commentator, he should remark on positive and negative components of each candidate, but not take sides.
Much like a sports commentator.
Also, were he to takes sides and make an endorsement, he would likely be shut down by the FCC. He has already been accused of being to voice of the vast right-wing conspiracy and he avoids that. If he gave an early endorsement, the Media would accuse him of trying to sway an election, and try to put him in jail. IIRC, they've tried it once already.
But that's not the only reason. He wants you to think for yourself. Make decisions for yourself. He tries to supply you with facts and truth so you can make a good decision.
Or... would you rather he make an endorsement so you can blindly follow his lead and vote for xxx because Rush told you to? Might as well be a democrat who blindly follows whomever the MSM endorses.
He likes Trump too. He thinks Cruz is a fake Christian and Conservative. He’s right as usual.
Can't wait to hear the new fall back schpeel, and see if Trump's name has been replaced with "those with executive experience" like it is over at FOX.
Are you saying that because he won't PICK whom you should vote for ?
Is it his job to decide who the winner of the Republican Party nominees should be ?
Or is it his job to give us the information to make our own decisions ?
What if he were to pick a candidate, so that the party was 'unified' behind one candidate. Would you like that ?
Now, what if that candidate was Rand Paul ? Would you still insist Rush pick the winner and use his 'power' to 'influence' the nomination process ?
I saw someone say Rush needs to stay on the good side of his state senator - for legal reasons. Is why the Rubio stuff. That old drug thing.
I am thinking the big Rush-180, which seemed to happen at the same time as Hannity did his 180, and maybe other Fox ones but I dont follow them -—— I say follow the money.
Just really seems to me that they got told to do that. Do it or your job. Blood sport this is.
Do it or your job. Rush could rationalize it by thinking it would be better to keep his job, although not so good, maybe for a limited time, keep his job rather than lose it altogether. And Hannity also.
I heard on top of the hour news today that: people in NH were looking for a candidate with *political* experience —— would you believe.

You nailed it Kenny: Rush uses the callers like the candidates use PAC’s to make attacks. As if Rush and Mr. Snerdley (James Golden) don’t know to the syllable what the caller is going to say.
Rush has been very disappointing with all of purported “conflicts” like knowing Megyn Kelly, Roger Ailes, the Bush family, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson and Donald Trump. He has outright lied many times on-air in the last few weeks.
Rush has always been fond of saying, “If they didn’t build you up, they can’t take you down.” It seems like he is trying to take down Trump after giving him cover for months. Rush seems in the tank for Cruz, but I haven’t been listening as closely after noting his dishonesty.
