Shoes. I'm thinking about shoes.
Same way I don't trust liberals who don't own shoes that cover their toes; I have a similar distrust against conservatives that don't own any shoes with laces. More to the point: Don’t own any shoes that do not need polishing.
These are the guys putting Jeb Bush over Donald Trump, because, manners. Oh they say things about Trump being a showboat and a jerk, and they’re completely right. Where they’re wrong, is in thinking that we vote for a President to give us our manners. Silly.
Dude, I’m retired and have no idea how much time is left. No one is paying me to tie a pair of shoes. So it’s down to velcro river sandals (with socks When there is snow about) or buckled ski boots. Anything else is a waste of my time. YMMV.
Where I live its either slip on shoes or cowboy boots. No laces.

You’re not one of those guys who wears dress socks with Bermuda shorts, are you? Because that looks REALLY silly. But it’s not a trust issue or anything.
Jeb’s manners made me ROFL. The guy’s an OAF. En espanol. And on him, that tall makes him look like Lurch. Or Frankenstein. He’s obviously (pardon me) pw to the max by that greedy little chiquita he’s tied up with. Totally an overgrown Mama’s boy.
I don’t care for his taste in interiors, but at least, the Trump family has class. And they’re ultra presentable. Trump has finally gotten it right with Melania. 3rd times the charm.
I’m so glad the 80s are over & I’m too old for that era to cycle back around again in my lifetime.

Sometimes shoes tell a great deal about a person. A friend of mine owned a dance studio and was having a very difficult time with one of her preschool dancers. I was aqainted with the parents and when she asked what they were like (trying to figure out how to deal with the child) I paused, then said,”Well, they wear the shoes that are like socks with your toes separated.” She replied,”I know exactly what you mean.”
However, I don’t get this guys point about shoes without laces.
Fashions change. Our forefathers used to wear powdered wigs and were regular dandies.
Hell, if I didn't have to work, I'd move to a warm place and live by the beach. I wouldn't even bother with shoes. I'd just go barefoot or in sandals all the time.

Same here. Anyone who disses someone for not wearing lace-up leather shoes is suffering from an overdose of self-esteem.
The only shoes I have with laces are hiking boots, outdoor work boots, and my wildland firefighting boots.
It’s Keen sandals all summer, and the most comfortable pull-ons I can find.

I own work and field boots or running shoes. I have one pair of shoes that need to be polished. I have worn them once in the last decade.
