Everyone is spinning the Iowa results from last night. Marco Rubio had a surprisingly good night and Donald Trump had a surprisingly mediocre one, the big winner was Ted Cruz.
No, not just because he was the actual winner of Iowa. But because of just how different his victory is from candidates in the past. It's monumental.
Think about it for a second:
The candidate who openly talked about...

“The Evangelicals are going to carry the day, so apparently not much else mattered. It was a religious vote.”
Iowa is always like this. So why would people think otherwise?
Ted worked the crowd like a politician is suppose to do.
Why won’t you vote for trump? ;)
I think the silent majority is speaking up.
Before last night, Trump was going to win big, Cruz might as well stay home, Trump's a winner and winners win everywhere.
Today, Iowa didn't mean anything, didn't count and Cruz won but who cares!!!
Did anyone figure how much paid for each vote he lost, cause the Iowa turnout was yuuuuge and Trump got less than 1/4th of it!
That's lots of Trump money tossed down the Iowa drain! I'm betting Trump knows how much each lost vote cost him.
Not as much as they like a true conservative who will stand on principle. Cruz broke the all time record for turnout, even with Trump and Rubio dividing up the vote with 20% and 25% each!
As things stand now, it's more likely that Cruz won because he appealed to the Evangelicals who'd voted for Bush, Huckabee, and Santorum in previous elections and managed to get them to come to the polls in large numbers.
Yep, we finally have a candidate we can get EXCITED about and be PROUD of!!!
March 1 - Watch Texas
Actually....an easy number to manipulate.
Been searching for crossover voter information to no avail. But, from what I did find, Cruz and Rubio got more votes in a couple of larger, more moderate counties, Polk, Story, Dallas, etc., (former Romney country). Also, Cruz and Rubio drew 51% of the youth vote overall (26%-25%) to Trump's 19% (as per NBC exit poll).
Still thinking about the Cruz campaign stating that (after 8pm CT) that large voter turnout would favor Trump.
Not sure, but the age demographic and the counties really don't make sense. Also, this Rubio surge was not indicated by all the major polling I saw.
Cruz is a career politician. He didn’t understand the bill and voted for TPA, forgot to disclose two major low interest loans from big banks, told voters in an active caucus that Carson dropped out.
Whatever it takes, right?
Do you think that if Cruz is elected, he will end the subsidies? How? An Executive Order? Are you at all troubled by Mrs. Cruz’ involvement with CFR.
That may mean something if I was on here yesterday bragging about Trumps big upcoming Iowa win but I wasn’t. Didn’t even watch the news last night and found out this am on Freeper.
Iowa is an overblown media hype fest. I have stated on here before that the primary set up is ridiculous. It should all be on the same day. What makes Iowa or any other state more important that the other? I am just tired of all the political bs and want change. Sorry I don’t care about what 28% of Iowans think as I apparently should.
I honestly don't know how you can have faith in these people anymore. Cruz, Rubio, etc...all the same....politicians doing what they gotta do to benefit themselves.
Obamacare? - not even read
Border wall? - bill was passed along time ago.
Immigration? - No one enforces the law
Would Cruz be any different? - probably not.
Thank you for posting this.
“Iâd read this if it wasnât promoting that arrogant little punk Crowder.”
Which is so much less appealing than reading arrogant punk humblegunner???
Don’t have time to play tiddlywinks with you. If that is all you can dwell on, rather than Ted Cruz’s 97%-100% pro-liberty/conservative voting record, then that is your problem.
Cruz went from Iowa event to Iowa event telling how he’d make sure his Administration paved the way for E25 and E30 products to get to market.
He wasn’t scaring them on the ethanol subject at all, he was just cleverly changing his focus to, in a way, offer more.
Back from detention I see. :-)
