You know, the emerging conservative leader in the US Senate- same one the GOP old-guard spent million$ trying to defeat- that one:
Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 - May 2008, Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country, and had the longest tenure in Texas history.
Partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm's U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.
Cruz has authored 80+ SCOTUS briefs and presented 40+ oral arguments before The Court
Cruz served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States
Described as a 'superb' constitutional lawyer, the man's considerable skills and laser-like focus were on display for all last week when he took oily reptile Eric Holder by the neck and made him answer the frickin question.
In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.
Cruz presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and the majority of the 2003 Texas redistricting plan. Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.
Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission
Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign.
Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation Ted Cruz is currently junior US Senator from Texas. In order to win the 2012 Republican nomination for the Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison, Cruz had to defeat Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst -heavily favored/backed by the DC old-guard GOP- in the Republican primary runoff. In the event, TEA Party favorite Cruz crushed Dewhurst, 57-43%... he then beat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election by a similar margin, 56-41. Cruz is also endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.
AWARDS: "America's Leading Lawyers for Business," Chambers USA (2009 & 2010) "50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America," National Law Journal (2008) "25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter Century," Texas Lawyer (2010) "20 Young Hispanic Americans on the Rise," Newsweek (1999) Traphagen Distinguished Alumnus, Harvard Law School
On November 14, 2012, Cruz was appointed vice-chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He is now spearheading efforts in the Senate to have Obamacare repealed root-and-branch...
Like The Great One Mark Levin says, re. this new wave of stand-straight-up patriots -TC, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, et. al: 'They're not perfect, nobody is- but they're damn good'.
Yep - cartoon characters. That’s about the IQ level we are talking about for Trump and his supporters! Thanks for confirming!
Actually, he did report the loans, but he falsely claimed on the FEC forms that the money came from his "personal funds", and then tried to cover his lie by claiming it was a careless oversight.
It's probably more correct to say he is political insider. Virtually his entire career after he left school has been in some way connected to government or politics. It just hasn't always been in Washington.
Did he ever open and run a lemonade stand?
Did he ever have to make a deal with a cabal of labor unions to get a business built and open?
Was he ever responsible for the pay and benefits of ten thousand employees? Hiw about 10’employees?
Shhhh... the adults are having a thread here. Go back to your comic books.
If the test is who is going to assemble a team to pull us out of the big “ R” or worse the big “D” that obama is going to leave, then Trump is leagues ahead of anyone
Without a functioning economy, kiss all other national priorities good bye
Healthcare rescue - nada
National defense - crippled
Foreign relations - no more checks to cash
Abortion - more people too desperately poor to have their babies
Immigration - an open sewer line
And It’s looking like tptb are not going to be able to keep the wheels on the wagon until after obama leaves offuce
Weren't you guys, just the other day, bashing Trump for not partakings? lol
Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a
Chief Justice of the United States

Probably the first Canadian also......
Cruz is smart enough to know when to go Rocky. Just wait.
All well and good except Cruz inspires nobody except his group of devotees. The man is simply not a leader. He’s an agitator. And Mark Levin is nowhere near being the Great One. He’s exposed himself as just another guy with a dog in this fight, just like all the rest of us.
So, as soon as a populist like Trump comes along, they change their tune. Someone who they were praising for standing up for conservative ideals, now is not a conservative to them. They blow with the popular wind. Why would they value principles, when they don't have any themselves...?
.....a lot of us already have! (Voted for Cruz)

Depending upon the meaning of the above "The Court" determines where that statement
is a lie or not. Since it doesn't use plural in Court it indicates a single court, SCOTUS
as that is the preceeding Court mentioned.
It is quite unfortunate. I pray that after Cruz wins, FR will settle down to what it once was.
.........Sir, with all due respect, comparing Cruz’s resume to Obama’s is a little like comparing Margaret Thatcher’s to Hillary’s.
I want to know much more about Trump and what he will do and if I can trust him.
Too many times we've been fed a slick candidate who says all the right things and fails to deliver.
My first impressions of Senator Ted Cruz were of the highest order.
However, "Ted Cruz for President" was a heart breaker, replacing my infatuation with something else altogether.
Now I am more open to this:
Don't get me wrong. Ted Cruz is a smart, canny, talented guy who has run a great "long race" campaign. He aspires to be Reagan but trust me he's Nixon. Right down the incredible discipline and smarts playing the political game. Our times' Kabuki Theatre politics in a "Made for TV" kayfabed reality make it very difficult to know what is real and what is just part of the show.Ted Cruz is not who he appears to be. As the bible says, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." In this case we must beware a Canadian bearing gifts.
In this ultra-high stakes game of Ephesians 6:12, observers and players both have to work much harder at not being played.
