Competing media networks did not have rights to broadcast the Fox debate, but they could air the Donald Trump Veterans Rally in total, or in part. As a consequence, just as many, -if not more- Iowa voters, saw Donald Trump on their television screens.

Not important...but I'm curious...if any or many over-the-air Iowa TV stations and radio newstalk stations broadcast the Veterans event live. If so, as many or more Iowans may have seen or heard that event live than saw the cable-TV debate.

Any Iowa voters onboard this thread today? (Probably too hard at work today.)

I gotta admit that a part of me hopes trump wins for the same reason it hoped Obama would win in 2008: The part that likes to say “I told you so”.

I watched the Trump event, but saw Cruz recaps. I like Cruz, and find him to be the most conservative candidate. What I saw was a guy trying to use irony and humor to make his points... and not being particularly successful at it. For example, his “every question is a beat up Ted Cruz question” was, I am convinced, his attempt to set up the punch line, “I may just have to leave the debate” (to imitate Trump). However, it failed miserably and came across as whining at the moderators.

It is the first time that he came across to me as the geeky high-school kid who no one likes... which is apparently the way he is oft perceived. It also makes me re-question how electable he is, even as I find him the most conservative.

Cruz threw a sucker punch at trump claiming that trump’s mother caused trump an eligibility question. Flat out lie, from the smartest guy on earth. God hates liars, if that means anything to you!

Those words out of Cruz’s own mouth destroyed his credibility.

I don’t say this with any glee but the more I see of Ted Cruz the less I like. It started out when he began to vote sideways on TPA and the Corker Bill. Then his weak excuses for why he voted directly opposite of what he espouses verbally. Then he “forgot” to disclose a couple of wall street loans. The final straw for me was when Cruz allowed himself to get ambushed by Glenn Beck for an onstage swearing in holding a compass. He’s not the guy folks.
