That National Review article is going to have a powerful effect. Hoist on their own petard.
The Trumpies are as thin-skinned as liberals. They can dish it out, but then try to bully the critics into silence.
Big difference between liberals and Conservatives, we don’t go in for group think. Unlike the Left, Conservatives don’t look to a “Conservative Establishment” to tell us what we should do or think.
Conservatives are the Blacks on the GOP plantation.
For decades we have shook our heads wondering why blacks line up to vote for the Dims decade after decade despite the utter destruction the Dims have brought to their community.
Trump has made many of them realize Conservatives are the Blacks of the GOP plantation. We line up year after year, sacrifice our time and money, and what do we get? A GOP political machine this is virtually identical to the Dims who comes around every 2 years saying “If you just give us this, everything will be awesome.”
Ask yourself this. Despite giving the entire Government to the GOP under Bush, was any item on the Conservative agenda advanced?
Sadly the answer is NO. And what many of us are realizing is the tools of the Conservative establishment i.e. National Review, Town-hall, Heritage Foundation, Club for Growth, Weekly Standard, Fox News, etc are the GOP equivalents of the “Civil Rights Leaders” that keep Blacks on the Democrat’s plantation. They all like to posture as “Anti Establishment” but all make their money by keeping “politics as usual” running in DC. Well new for the “Conservative” Media Establishment Like National Review, Eric Erickson, Bill Kristol, Fox News etc., time to get out of your media bubble worlds, stop with your ivory tower theorizing and try seeing what life is like for us out here in “fly over” land.
Cruz is just the latest red herring of this “keep the Conservatives on the plantation” stick. Cruz does not have the ability to go over the heads of the political/media/business machine and get the American people behind him. Cruz will mouth all the right slogans and do nothing but what the Political/Media/Business machine tells him to do. If he oppose them, he will be tied up with phony media manufactured scandals and a uniformly hostile Congressional Leadership until he knuckles under in desperation to build SOMETHING for his “legacy”
You are going to have to tear down the DC Political/Business/Media machine before it can be rebuilt. Trump can do that, Cruz cannot. The national body politic needs radical chemotherapy, not a tummy tuck, a nose job and some Botox injections.
Fascinating to watch how the elites think they can insult the “commoners” into supporting the elite-preferred candidate.
Not only shows just how disconnected the elite are, but violates a basic tenet of human relations as well.
Well, said.
Then why is the GOPe lining up to support Trump instead of Cruz?
Yours is a thoughtful response. Well done.
Great response.
Sorry, but I watched the piece. Kelly clearly has blood in her eyes for Trump. She did put on afterward two Trump supporters, Stone and some other guy who regularly supports Trump. They pretty well rebutted the vitriol and pointed out that Trump’s lead makes all the bad-mouthing moot.
Kelly will be on stage as a moderator again on 28 Jan.
I know he’s been on Hannity, O’Reilly, Greta, Friends, and I think, Dobbs. Has he been back on Kelly’s show? I don’t know.
I’m afraid she’ll be an idiot again. I’d put Harris Faulkner in there instead. In terms of seriousness, she makes Kelly look like an amateur.
Who is the GOPe? Did you see the National Review and Weekly Standard? The gope is going for Trump?
Precisely. Well written !
I read through a few of the screeds on National review and the telling part was how many of them were stuff that could’ve been written easily by someone like Maureen Dowd at the New York times or some puke at Mother Jones. There was one by some Cato puke claiming to be a libertarian which really heaped on the political correctness crap alleging hate because one knows that not supporting cheap foreign labor and illegal immigration and not wanting to import Sharia believing Muslims is “hate”. I swear I used to respect libertarian groups like Cato but they have transformed into corporatist liberaltarians.
Some of the others were milder repeating the tried diatribes of how Trump dared not go along with GW Bush and the Iraq invasion and how he was at one time Pro abortion just like Romney our last nominee. Trump merely spoke favorably of socialized medicine something which he totally rejects as an option now I suppose theyd feel better about him if hed actually been a Governor like Romney who set the stage for Obamacare. Maybe if Trump were going around talking about how he was “seriously conservative” these elitist pukes would feel less threatened.
I know Trump is not perfect, I know he gave huge sums of money to both Democrats and Republicans but of course these detractors are very selective in their reporting of Trumps donations and positions. They also won’t tell you how the Trump family supported both Goldwater and Reagan.
Megyn Has ruined FOX for me, although I still enjoy Judge Jeanine
Bkmrk.
