How miserly is The Donald?
From 1990 through 2009, Trump has personally donated a total of just $3.7 million to his foundation, which was incorporated in 1987. In fact, the billionaire is not even the largest contributor to his own charitable organization.
Tax returns show that World Wrestling Entertainment has given Trumpâs foundation a total of $5 million in return for the developerâs assistance in working a couple of televised angles along with WWE boss Vince McMahon. The WWE gave Trumpâs foundation $4 million in 2007 for his help in promoting that yearâs WrestleMania festivities, and another $1 million in 2009, when Trump (pictured below with McMahon) pretended to purchase part of the WWE empire.
The real estate titanâs foundation has also banked $205,000 from media outlets and supermarket tabloids in return for exclusive photos (People magazine, for example, paid the foundation $150,000 in 2006 for the first shots of Trumpâs newborn son Barron).
During the past two decades, the Trump foundation has made charitable contributions totaling a paltry $6.7 million.
Helmsley, by comparison, gave $5 million to the American Red Cross when New Orleans was submerged, and, post-9/11, she gave $5 million to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children*s Benefit Fund.
In 2006, Trumpâs foundation did give $1000 to the New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Fund, a controversial Scientology program (co-founded by Tom Cruise) that promoted a *purification rundown* for firemen and others who inhaled toxins while working near the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center.
Ah! The media’s latest Trump smear campaign. How shocking!
How about some real charity? Like when the Clintons donate to themselves.
Except that the Trump companies have donated hundreds of millions over the years. His son Erick alone has raised $60 million for a charity he is close to. This article is bogus.
No kidding.
The wealth envy, that’s overtaking the CRuzbots, on this site, is noting short of incredible.
Trump has donated much more than most of the misers in DC.
Not to mention all of the $$ he and his family have raised for charitable causes.
Ask Marlo Thomas if she thinks Trump is not charitable (St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.)
The CRuzer’s have completely gone off the deep end. It’s been an interesting process to witness.
Good ol Ayn Rand, that paragon of virtue.
Jesus said:
A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denari and gave them to the innkeeper. Look after him, he said, and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.
Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?
The expert in the law replied, The one who had mercy on him.
Jesus told him, Go and do likewise.
Oh, now you stepped right into that one ....because he has indeed played the pay off game. How you conflated that with charity is quite an intellectual pretzel trick.
Ask his campaign manager who couldn*t come up with anything.
I think he should fire her, since Trump would never lie.
Trump is the billionaire you can trust. He s not like those other nasty billionaires.
Cruz.
Cruz is supported by evil billionaires.
Trump is a good billionaire. So we know that there is at least one good billionaire.
But Trump is the billionaire you can trust.
Character is a good indicator of future behavior, as is past performance.
Hot air is worth every penny.
So he set up a charitable foundation NOT to give money away?
He certainly thinks outside the box.
Or maybe there s something else going on.
Other candidates have released theirs.
But I m sure he will any day now.
It would be interesting if there was a spike in charitable giving over the last year, though. It would be kind of like the spike in his donations to Republicans, beginning six years ago.
Are you the guy who claims to have a 200 IQ?
So he’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t? You’ve got it all in the bag, I guess. And who gives a damn whether he gave his underwear to the Salvation Army just as Bill Clinton did.
Yet he operates a very public charitable foundation.
A charitable foundation that donates little to charity.
Huh.
Anyway, it s tough to donate privately when most people claim their charitable donations on their tax returns.
Other candidates have released theirs, but Trump hasn t.
It could be that he wants to keep his good deeds secret.
But there is a slim chance that he hasn t donated anything privately. His spokesperson couldn t come up with anything that wasn t already claimed by his foundation.
You said (I think sarcastically) "Trump is billionaire you can trust"
My answer is yes, I do trust him. One reason is Mr. Trump's sense of self worth. While Trump is President, he will have a keen sense of his place in history. I would think his goal will be recognition as the best President EVER.
Every one of the others will have the natural politician's goal to amass power and fortune. Trump already has those things.
“Are you the guy who claims to have a 200 IQ?”
No.
“Red Herring
Not a red herring, nor any other color herring.
You posted.
You claim Trump is stingy.
You clearly have a basis for how you define stingy.
I would like to compare what you give to what Trump gives to see how you fare by definition of stingy.
I do not share your standard for defining stingy.
Providing quality service is generous.
Trump does that.
I do not share your evaluation of “generous” nor “stingy.”
Now, show us your giving and we will evaluate you by your own standard.
