Nah, I gots my 9mm Sigs, HKs, Dan Wesson Valor 1911, Colt 1911, S&W 1911, Ruger Bisely Vacaro and a few other odds and ends.
Personal preference is realky what it comes down to. We’re living in the golden age of semi-auto pistols. If a person can’t find something they like, they’re damned hard to please.
I’ve shot .45 ACP by the thousands year after year. I love my Ed Brown Series 70, but my Glock 30 is my carry gun, and it shoots great, and ALWAYS goes bang when you pull the trigger. The AK of handguns

Yep. Now our problem is that we need a bag of guns because we have a favorite for every situtation, like a bag of clubs for golf.
Meant DAO (trying to divide attention)
While I love the 1911 platform, I would now use my XDM Springfield 45 as the go-to gun.
1911
Thanks to a 1911 in 67 I am here today.
I think I can afford an all metal gun.
i dont know how many times ive seen people click on their “safety”....and whats the first thing they do?...try and pull the trigger of course. Ive actually seen people try and look down the barrel....smh.
If I could only keep one of my semi-autos, it would be my S&W 5904. I like capacity too much to go to only having revolvers.
I used to carry a Ruger SR40c. And then I bought a SR 1911. and now the 40 just feels like a toy. I’d take a 1911 over a Glock any day!
check out some of the torture tests on you tube they put Glocks thru....they are amazing handguns...they just flat out perform.
I’ve owned both. The 1911 is tops for craftsmanship but the Glock is just more shootable. The 19 is probably the ideal for reliability utility, and light weight. 15+1 is tough to beat.
Own both, but I’m just trying to help push the post count over the top... ;-)
bumping fer a hunnert
(does that count?)
1911 fans that disparage Glock "tupperware" outnumber Glock fans that hold the 1911 in contempt 100:1, easily. Just look at the responses to this thread.
I have been a fan of the 1911 since I entered the Air Force in 1953, and had to fire it annually (until they switched to .38 revolvers). It is still my preferred gun.
The first time I took my daughter to a firearms training course, she borrowed a Glock 17 and fell in love with it. I tried it, but it doesn't fit my hand properly. But she can shoot it very well.
Get a gun that fits your hand and that you can shoot well. Never mind what anyone else says.
OHHH Yeah ... If I win the Lotto or my long lost Uncle from Nigeria finally comes through I’m getting 2 of those
