And they were denied access because of their country of citizenship, not their religion (which they could easily lie about). So, that's the sticking poin with Trump's approach. On the other hand, what Cruz has proposed is that individuals from specific countries be refused for a period of time. You can test for country of citizenship but there's no place on a passport to identify your religion.
How is this so freaking difficult for people to comprehend?
