Congressman Calls for Investigation into Cuomo Administration after $265 Million “Disappears”

Congressman Chris Gibson of New York is calling for an investigation into Governor Andrew Cuomo's administration after learning hundreds of millions of dollars in loans went to Health Republic, an insurance co-op that lasted only two years, and which caused 215,000 New Yorkers to lose their insurance.

Health Republic was founded in 2013 with $265 Million in federal loans. It soon became one of the largest health insurance cooperatives in the United States. Now it is no more after New York regulators discovered massive deficits in Health Republic's books.

Originally ordered to close by December 31, regulators had to bump that up to November 30 after realizing the co-op was in worse financial straits than they had realized. This left over 200,000 people scrambling to find new insurance a month earlier than expected.

"$265 million of taxpayer money disappeared and 215,000 New Yorkers are facing turmoil in their healthcare coverage," Congressman Chris Gibson told the Watershed Post, an upstate New York paper that wrote an expose on the company.

"There is no question that there needs to be an investigation to see where there was wrongdoing," he continued. "This happened on Governor Cuomo's watch."

Gibson is joined by New York State Senators Kemp Hannon and James Seward, who are also demanding answers. "It is extremely important to determine what led to Health Republic's failure, and it is our intention to pursue legislation to avoid such a catastrophe in the future," they wrote in a letter to the state earlier this month.

The catastrophe was called "one of the biggest disasters ever," by David Cordner, an administrator at Llobet Medical Group. "Where was the money going?" he demanded to know.

More money from New Yorkers might be going into Health Republic in the future, however, as the company has not been paying millions in bills to local doctors and hospitals. The taxpayers of New York might be forced to pick up the tab.

"I think when Trump is elected, we’ll find out that the progressives have been systematically looting from the entitlements and social programs they’ve invented."

Friend, I've been saying this since before the Clinton's were in office.
And the Republicans have been stealing too!
Just not as much and not as overtly as the Democrats. But they're learning. Just wait until Obama leaves office and see if he doesn't somehow become a multi-millionaire on his 400K a year.

Let's see 400,000 X 8 means that Obama has earned 3.2 million dollars before taxes for eight years in office. Bet he'll be worth hundreds of millions about two to three years after he leaves office. And of course it will be tied up in some phony "peace foundation" financed with cash from the Saudis. The Saudi and other foreign "contributions" will be cover for money looted from the federal government.

When I look at their logo, the first thing that comes to mind is a German swastika. Remove the short tails and there it is.

I seem to remember that when Cuomo was in charge of HUD many, many, many millions “disappeared.” And he is now governor.
