often come away from the conservative/Christian conferences Iâve attended around the country with the feeling that weâre trying to drive the car by hitting the gas and the brakes at the exact same time.
Although I have met many wonderful people at those events, and received no shortage of inspiration from the speeches I have heard, there is also a shadow that looms over everything. This shadow taunts us with visions of an army, whose soldiers run away or whose weapons jam right at the very moment in the fight when resolve and execution matter most.

Now that Cruz has risen to the top 2, we're finally going to find out who the real conservative voters are and whether or not the real conservative voters are outnumbered by the pseduo-conservatives.
I can’t what for that ‘’Conversation’’ Cruz said we’d have about legalizing illegals.
I choose Cruz.
16 years combined works for me.
If you're trying to win over Trump voters with that load of crap, forget it. You Cruz people are turning me off him with your insults and I never thought that would happen.
Deace is just pissed that his endorsement wasn’t worth a fraction of a percentage point in the polls for Cruz.
Haven’t read the article, but I’ll make the Trump argument. Cruz has not demonstrated the ability to forge alliances, whereas Trump would theoretically be deal maker extraordinaire and push through legislation.
How much better would Ted Cruz be as a President if he had four years being the apprentice to Donald Trump? It is likely that Ted is smarter than Donald, but Donald has shown that he knows how to hire and work with people who are smarter than he is. Let’s face it. The GOPee is contemptuous of Ted Cruz, but they are scared to death of Donald Trump. The combination would be simply breathtaking, and that is what we need if this country is to survive as founded.
Cruz for me, because the 1st amendment matters. All of it. Including the Freedom of Religion. I’ll vote for Trump if it comes down to it, but I don’t like the way he reacted to the Kim Davis controversy.
I don't want another ‘politician’ in the White House, nor do I want someone that won't do anything....we put Republicans in office in the House of Representatives and The Senate and what have we got for it? NOTHING!!! They have let obuma have everything he wanted and then some...obuma has done more damage to America than anyone or anything since She was founded...and for 7 years we have had nothing but poor health care, higher taxes, no budget, more illegal immigrants on food stamps, housing and health care than ever before and he has another year to go...
If the spineless sissies in the House and Senate would have done their jobs, we would have had obuma and Hillary on treason charges and impeached, but no one had the balls to do it then and no one has the balls to do it now...
A ‘politicians’ job is to get re-elected, and the only time you hear from them is when they sugar you up and promise you the stars, moon and beyond to get your vote which doesn't mean a thing to them except get them back to Washington D.C. to be re-elected again....it's time this stops!!!
Get rid of Dr. Halloween Candy taxer and the Rube and we got ourselves a race.
...Trump would theoretically be deal maker extraordinaire and push through legislation...
As I watch the Trump special now on the History Channel, its amazing how easily he has made the impossible happen throughout his career.
Yup - what you said.
The Donald is the battering ram needed to get into the White House, and he should bring Cruz along with him to advise. After the cleanup is well underway, Cruz can take the reins 4 years later so The Donald can enjoy his family again.
The Donald can bring in Democrats and Independents - I don’t think Cruz could bring in any Democrats, and I think some are needed.
I guess you can mark me down as a pseduo-conservative.
National sovereignty is the number one issue for a large number of people. The question isn’t who is more conservative for them so much as, who do they believe is serious about securing our sovereignty. Trump and Cruz are the only people on that list, and its a judgement call which one is more determined.
My view is that they may well, in the end, be a team. If Cruz leads, he won’t pick Trump as his running mate, and Trump wouldn’t accept. But if Trump leads, he would pick Cruz and Cruz would accept. And they would be an awesome team.
I agree with your statement, and would like to add what I believe in addition:
Cruz has a personality issue. Yes, he’s a clean honest person that truly loves America and I think he’d be a great President.
However he’s lacking charm, charisma or whatever it takes to get people to like him just by watching his body language and facial expressions. Now in the real world, that does not mean squat, but to get elected it does.
Trump has a very vibrant personality and can be very charming at times. He can also be very caustic at times. He has the right mix of a good leader. I think that caustic side of him is needed to keep the left bashed down. The public must agree, for he just keeps getting more popular.
Your candidate is the king of insults. I don’t remember Ronald Reagan EVER running around and attacking other candidates FROM THE LEFT, using LEFTISTS tactics.
Did Reagan ever insult another person’s looks?
Did Ragan ever refer to another Republican as Crazy?
Did Reagan support Kelo and Eminent Domain?
Did Reagan change from a leftist/Progressive to Conservative overnight without doing his homework?
The truth is you have no standing and believe in the fallacy that anything not GOPe is automatically conservative. Trump may not be GOPe, but he sure as hell isn’t looking out for conservatives. And more importantly, he hasn’t done anything to warrant the level of TRUST that Cruz has.
So don’t give me the BS about what you imply as “insults”. Look in the mirror at your candidate.
Yup!
I so want to see that. I don’t get History channel but hope it shows up online somewhere.
