ISIS is an infantry problem. So is Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia.
You cannot get 60-80 divisions with volunteers.
“I am an Army Vet. Not sure I want to be sharing my foxhole with Pajama Boy!!”
Navy Reserve here, two years active and 4 years active reserve from 1961 to 1967, and I was very glad to be with fellow volunteers and not being on the same ship with whining losers.
Boot camp weeded out a lot of losers/whiners and then the Navy training schools or active duty weeded out more losers.
Then, drug screening eliminated the remaining losers.
Our men and women in the military don’t need whining losers serving with them.

Even as CIC?

“I think I speak for this group when I say I chose not to destroy the military by drafting this crap.”
Amen FRiend, and you speak for me and every Vet I know.
I used to deliver to a VFW Post.
There were two groups of men.
There was always a gaggle of men sitting at the bar talking loudly about how tough it was when they were in the Army.
To hear most of them talk you would have thought they whipped the Germans AND the Japanese all by their lonesomes.
There were other men sitting talking about work, children, grandchildren and wives.
You would never believe that bunch had ever heard a shot fired in anger.
One day the bartender clued me in.
The loud gaggle had been clerks and such.
Most had never left the states. The ones who had never saw a live enemy soldier who hadn’t been captured by someone else.
The quiet men?
They were the ones with the Purple Hearts and Silver Stars. Scars from bullets, grenades, mortars and artillery. The men with long dead friends.
They didn’t need to talk loudly, they had walked Proudly.
If not, then raise the voting age back to 21.
I like that plan.
Add to that, the equipment is no longer “basic”. You need intelligent and motivated soldiers. Draftees tend to be neither.
Although I said to bring back the draft to someone the other day; give those snowflakes something the really worry about.
I think their time will come.
No draft. It isn’t necessary, it doesn’t improve the fighting force, it is a detriment to good order and it is just an excuse for spoiled brats to eff up everything that is good about being an infantryman.
That’s why we need to get as many folks on the draft boards as possible.

Why do they owe anything in addition to handing over half their wages to the government for 50 years?
Exactly! Not all draftees were malcontents and aholes but too many were. Why bring that back unless it is absolutely necessary?
Yep.
It’s bad enough now with astroturf, enemy loving pieces of leftard **** that join up just to get the “creds” to trash the military.
Lets make it mandatory for useless, worthless, spineless sniveling leftard degenerates to fill our military ranks.
I smell all kinds of win in that idea... that is, if win smells like a huge pile of severed gangrenous limbs left in the sun to ripen to full stink for a few days.
I would be tempted to agree with you, but it would ruin our military
The job of the military maybe to kill people and break things but it takes highly skilled professionals to make sure you kill only certain people and break the right things.
Conservatives are generally against social engineering, especially using the military.
Liberals tend to be in favor of social engineering especially using the military.
Ergo anyone who is in favor of "bringing back the draft" for any reason other then we are going to war and bodies are needed is a Commie.
This would be the death of the military and exactly what Obamatons want. There would be a literal army of these brats to completely ruin what is left of the military.
“Get down and give me one pushup, now soldier!!”
*BUMP* to THAT, Grampa Dave!
“Why bring that back unless it is absolutely necessary?”
If 0bama keeps on IMPORTING THE ENEMY - it may well BE necessary!
Grrrrrr!
This idea is totally f’d. As a Volunteer US Army vet, a free country doesn’t need a slave army.
