Are you daft? The outpouring of sympathy and support from around the world was amazing. Very touching expressions.

Thanks for that correction. I assumed it was humor without the snark tag.

Could have been grounded for a fly-over by arriving American military, or dignitaries. Yes, protocol break, but tender hearted.

How old were you, 12? Of course there was support from around the world. Was there FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc? No. So maybe it wasn’t posted all over the place for all to see as such, but there was support from around the globe.

You've got a very poor, or else very 'selective' memory!

Even at the 'Changing of The Guard' ceremony in London, they played 'The Star Spangled Banner', in memory of 9/11.

EVERY NHL game in Canada, even where a US team was not playing, played 'The Star Spangled Banner' ahead of 'O, Canada!' and had two minutes of silence.

CAF (now called what they should have been call, RCAF) aircraft flew CAP over several US cities, in the days following the attack, to relieve US aircraft and crews.

Two hundred fifty-five US bound flights were re-directed to Canadian airports. Gander, NFLD, a town of about 10,000, hosted 6,600 stranded passengers and crew from 53 aircraft.

There were PLENTY of tributes around the world, in respect of 9/11.

Even PM Chretien covertly sent members of JTF2 into Afghanistan, to work with US SpecOps and the Northern Alliance. The Brits also sent members of the SAS and SBS to assist. All of this in September and early October 2001, before regular ground troops arrived.

Here are pictures of Gander and Halifax airports, when flights were suspended 09/11/01:

On a personal level, I saw the second plane hit the Tower, as I was watching TV while getting ready for work. As soon as I got to work, I made an appointment the Red Cross to donate blood. The reporters suggested 15-20,000 injuries, so I thought so many casualties will require blood from blood banks all over Eastern North America. Calgary's Red Cross would have to ship blood East, to cover transfers from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal to NYC. Luckily, there weren't 20,000 casualties; unfortunately, there were over 3,000 deaths!

A LOT of people all over the world did a LOT of things to honour the memory of the 911 victims, even if you don't remember.

Au Contraire my friend. Facebook wasn’t around and we were all in such shock with the recovery taking so long that we didn’t read the news in other nations media outlets.

Do you do that now? Do you want to? newsnow.co.uk is a spider search site for news.

I remember the people in Gander were wonderful. We couldn’t ask for better neighbors than Canada.

I flew a commercial flight to Germany from Charlotte on September 16, 2001. We were in Frankfurt and went to an Italian restaurant called Giorno et Notte and the entire staff came out of the kitchen when they heard that we were Americans. They were crying. They kept saying I’m so sorry I’m so sorry and spent time with us. The owner had spent his own money to have special candy made in the shape of Twin Towers to honor those lost and he gave some to each of us.

Europe stood with us. You are quite mistaken.

Reminds me of the old woman who gave her few copper coins and Jesus said she gave more than anyone else because it was all she had.

Perhaps you should take a look at the country that has voted the ‘man without a history’ into the highest post in that country, not once, but twice; a man who is determined to destroy not just his own country, but every other Western country.

How exactly, are all the French ‘dumbasses’ yet not ALL citizens of the above noted country not ‘dumbasses’?

I sincerely LOATHE to use a phrase that HRC recently used, but aren’t you using too broad a brush?

Those who voted for a ‘man without a history’ are equally as responsible for their eventual fate; I do not share that load of blame because I voted against him. What’s more, that doesn’t mean I should have sympathy for the stinking French for allowing up to 8% of their population to become muslim.

Not a Bono fan, but you don’t remember the 2002 Superbowl when he opened his jacket during half time and it was lined with an American Flag design. That was just one of many.

I really don’t understand the disdain for the French shown by many. No matter the nationality, there are different personalities across the board that fit into shrink’s categories. It is pretty amazing actually. I have twins all over the world and they have blurry monitors at times.

Yes it was. Unfortunately, some on this board resemble the Black Lives Matter crowd. They look for reasons to be offended. They take a nice gesture and look for a reason to get pissed off. They are, quite frankly, boring cranks.
