The rules were changed to keep someone like Cruz out, but the GOPe didn’t count on someone like Trump.
Rubio did the standard GOPE performance. “I will build a big mean military machine”. And the donor class rubs their hands in glee knowing the same old DC game will continue of uninterrupted feeding at the Taxpayer trough.
Conservatives have got to wake up. This idea that we can make this or that part of the budget a “Sacred cow” has got to stop. We just saw what happens. GOP says “We must spend more on defense” Democrats filibuster and demand more domestic spending. Result? DC “compromises” by spending
more on everything.
