RedState's own Leon Wolf did a great job exposing the Politico story about Ben Carson and West Point as a lie. Washington Post reporter Dave Weigel is also churning out great information on Twitter regarding the story.
I want to focus on what Donald Trump is doing with the story, however.
Yesterday, November 5, Donald Trump had this to say about Politico:
Look, Politico is so dishonest in so many different things. This Politico website or whatever the hell they call it, I mean, they write about me. We don't deal with them anymore because the level of dishonesty is incredible.
Today, November 6, Donald Trump is spreading the false Politico story about Ben Carson. Below is one of the several Trump Tweets citing the Politico piece.
What an incredible turnaround. It appears Trump is willing to do whatever it takes to destroy Carson, who is poised to disrupt his position as GOP frontrunner.
Yesterday, Trump seized on the silly CNN investigation of Carson's childhood. According to Trump, Carson's childhood might be a "total fabrication.?
Ironically, much of Trump's support is due to the perception that he tells the truth and shuns the mainstream media. It is now clear that he will abandon that notion when it suits him politically.

Trump does not obey Reagan’s 11th comandment, it was fun in the first couple months of the campaign, but the petty insults are starting to get really old.
Agreed, but don’t be so sure that Politico is the only ones lying. The slanted the story, yes, but the facts behind it do not align with Ben’s recounting. He is changing the story to match the facts, too.
I seen that when I did a massive research on him, I haven’t posted near what I have on him...that’s why I say he won’t make it...if someone such as I can find stuff out, I know the media can, which is making me wonder why they haven’t gone full bore with it yet...what are they waiting for?
And no, the media are nothing but liars...and have been for years and years....they are no longer the ‘reporting’ the news, they lie to ‘make’ the news all for their benefit...
And the story broke yesterday that Trump once had a hangnail!
I would say that they have never really bothered themselves with objectively reporting the news. It’s about advertising revenue not some idealistic pursuit of the truth, and sometimes about a political agenda when that will further their goals of making money in the process.
Add to all your facts that Carson also did an hour long PBS special for Mannatech. In one of the speeches he credited Mannatech for funding his endowment chair at Johns Hopkins. ($2.5 Million)
One Freeper put it this way, Carson: “I did not have supplement relations with that company, Mannateck Lewinsky.”
Ok, that’s a good one.

When an Army officer with the rank of a General Westmoreland tells you that you’ll get an acceptance from WP, you can take it to the bank. His word is fully equivalent to a formal offer. So I think you’re making a “distinction without a difference.”

I have a question:
When did General Westmoreland die? What year?
When was Ben Carson in the ROTC?
What year was it that his first book came out and he described his meeting that took place with Westmoreland?
When did his second book come out when he again said he met with Westmoreland?
And what was his main goal for saying this stuff? Was it because he was raised in Detroit and achieved what he said he did, or is there another reason for him saying this?
Yes he has....to go off the campaign and sell books? Trump isn’t doing that, Bush isn’t doing that with ‘daddy’s’ book; hummm lol
Agree....where was the “rally cry” for support, for Trump, since day 1....with all of the attacks he’s received??
I guess Dr Ben and the rest of the candidates/RNC/GOPee have denounced that vile, profanity filled Anchor Baby video about Trump. I may have missed it, if they did.

Trump is just enabling Democrats. Seems to be a pattern with him.
The only rally cry there has been with Trump are people like us that are his supporters...I haven’t seen the vile media do anything but lie and make up stories on him either....
But my main thought is if we want a Great America, it’s people have to start righting the wrongs of those that are not doing the type of things that make America the Nation She is...and that’s my whole point of my discussion...
America needs Her people to stand up for Her when they do wrong, and that vile person that wrote in that manner towards another human being is unacceptable to America and should be fired immediately!!!
Oh, I agree that author of the article should be fired by Polutico. Last time I checked he/she hadn’t....and the article was STILL posted (should be pulled, if it’s false).
My point is the double standard.....with the non-stop Trump hits and subsequent response, vs this incident.
I know it’s still there, I did however fire off an email to them telling them what I thought and I might add, I wasn’t nice in my wording...
There is a double standard, and Trump is going to take some really hard hits if he wins the nomination....we all know that...he can take Hillary out and she is going to use any means necessary to do it...but Trump will beat her, I have no doubt in my mind over that one!!!

You’re probably right...the man has risked his entire life’s record and reputation, his livelihood of him AND his kids.....just to enable Demoncrats. Got it.
