‘When foreigners attend our great colleges & want to stay in the U.S., they should not be thrown out of our country.”

“I want talented people to come into this country—to work hard and to become citizens. Silicon Valley needs engineers, etc.”

The above quotes are from......TRUMP! (Twitter, Aug. 2015).

Cruz has said the same thing. Cruz also has in there that the corporations have to prove that they can’t find Americans with the skills they require. Although I imagine there will be lots of ways to get around that - much like “competitive bids” but then you get to the part about the left-handed albino guy.

Cruz bases it on the idea that why educate these people and then ship them back off overseas in order to compete against us, where keeping them here will help America? With “protections” that they aren’t competing against our workers.

OTOH - I’ve seen other papers that say Cruz is wrong, and there is NOT a shortage of skilled American STEM workers.

Regardless - this one issue, or one of several issues that I may not 100% agree with Cruz on, I’ve sent him a donation from time to time.

We currently allow ONE MILLION+ immigrants each year. 95% of those are sponsored by close relatives. 90% of those are low skilled immigrants, and 60% of them end on public dole.

Trump wants to allow American educated highly intelligent college graduates allowed to immigrate INSTEAD of the millions of under-educated immigrants.

It is not expansion of immigrants. It is improving quality of immigrants, and reducing welfare candidate immigrants.
