The daughter of Guardian author Jessica Valenti did not know that guns existed "in real life." Valenti laments that she even has to tell her daughter "anything about guns," including confirming their existence.
According to Valenti, her daughter five-years-old daughter Layla looked at a picture of Martin Luther King, Jr that hangs in her room and asked, "How did he die?"
Valenti told her that he was killed by a man with a gun. "And thats when she asked, shocked, if guns existed in real life," and then asked why guns were "allowed."
"The truth is that I resent that I have to tell my daughter anything about guns," Valenti laments. She further asks how she can explain that "we live in a nation where peoples right to own a weapon that kills trumps her right to safety and a life free from fear?"
She continues, "This is not the world I want for her - not the world I want for any child."
In the end, "My husband and I did the best we could that night explaining that guns were, in fact, real, and that despite the fact that they are dangerous some people still own them."
According to Valenti, this all happened the night before the shooting at Umpqua Community College.
Poor kid. Living in a fantasy world where inanimate objects jump off shelves all by themselves and go on killing sprees.
Yet another brainless blissninnie.
First, there were some incredible massacres, and lots and lots of violent crime, before guns were ever invented. Ghenghis Khan’s armies made mountains of skulls long before the use of firearms, and crime by strong, sword-wielding, men against weaker men and women was routine. Along came guns, and then the saying, “G-d made Man, Samuel Colt made man equal.”
Dip$hit: what do you do in your liberal blissninnie land when bad people come into your house? You call OTHER ARMED MEN to come and take care of the first one (or several).
Idiot.
What a fool. I knew about guns from the time that I was a very young child. My father had guns and they weren’t a secret.
From a wealthy ultra left wing section of Boston. That sounds ripe for burglaries. What does she tell her special little snowflake about pressure cookers? What a shame her daddy is a weak little pansy.
When I was 5 I had a .22 Rifle and knew how to shoot it. What a pansy assed country we have become.
“The daughter of Guardian author Jessica Valenti did not know that guns existed “in real life.” “
Yeah, but I bet she can put the hell out of condom on a cucumber.
“Guardian author” is an entire life attitude
