Liveleak description: Viral video showing Chinese forces retaking an island from foreign invaders. The most awesome part of the video is when the multiple "carrier killer" missiles re-entry maneuvering and overcome ships defenses. And yes, these Chinese weapons are all operational right now.

Detection range and missile intercept range. You think a Burke carries a Thaad complement around n its back pocket?

Who needs Thaad when you have Aegis, integrated with space surveillance...backed by SM-3?

It's the current standard for BMD.

And, it's a layered defense. First, SM-3, then ERAAM, then SM-2 and Finally CIWS.

Each Burke carries 96 Mk-41 VLS tubes.

The system has, so far, been 98% effective against test Ballistic Missiles on FIRST shot.

Yes, if you fired 500 missiles at a battle group simultaneously a couple would probably get through.

But if a country fired 500 ballistic missiles toward Capital Assets they would have far more serious things to worry about than what a single Battle Group could do to them.
