What’s with all the “I’m not a Trump supporter, but . . .”?
Declaring you’re not a Trump supporter reveals your bias at the start.
Lot’s don’t read any further. Some dive right in.
Why not make your point, support with evidence and state your conclusion?
Seems it would make for more informative journalism.
“But Monkeys” as Ms Laura would call them
Most of the time when I post on a Trump thread, I preface my comments with "I'm not a Trump supporter, but ...." because I'm not a Trump supporter. I don't support anyone in the race yet because (a) there's a long way to go to even the first caucus/primary and (b) anything can happen at this point.
Now, when Trump does something I like/agree with, I post that too. Am I not supposed to do that as a non-Trump supporter? Can I not as a casual observer at this point post anything pro or con about Trump? Or is that now verboten on Trump threads?
I agree.
I have noticed the exact same thing.
They are Trump supporters, but lack the courage to say so, for fear of ridicule from the anti Trump trolls here.
Be not afraid, i Say.
I’ve seen this disclaimer so many times it seems like all the journalists and pseudo journalist plaster this disclaimer before they begin to comment on Trump.
They will say that they would not be caught dead supporting Trump and that Trump is just not worth their support, but then they say that Trump is the only one with the guts to take on the entire establishment and these gutless journalists will then say that Trump deserves a gold star plastered to his forehead for his little efforts.
What absolute arrogance on the part of these pencil warriors. Trump is taking on a huge challenge that no one has the stamina or the courage to.
When these pencil warriors put the disclaimer on their articles it shows they have no conviction of their opinions. They have no idea what is going on and so they have to play it safe. What jokes they are!
Well, I’m not a journalist, and my point is a really simple one. I appreciate the natural order being upended, but that doesn’t win my support. That’s all.
