It is almost like you “not a high minded Conservative” folks want just fold! Who else can win now? Think about it. Who else and what other ticket can win?
Trump/Cruz pulls crossovers, independants and true conservatives. Without that, RNC cannot win. There is nothing a “true conservative can say that will pull enough votes to take the Presidency. The deck is stacked. The only way conservatives can win it is with Trump/Cruz. That is all.
