Concurring bump...as Robert likes to say there are 'social consequences' how you dress, behave and associate with in public.
It does, there is no question. Taking sides has consequences. However, those consequences can be more survivable - and have more dignity and fulfillment of conscience - than being a bystander, swept away and burned with the chaff of the times.
That knife cuts both ways.
