This debate is a hatchet job by fox. It really shows how fox is not conservative.
Better to have someone kicking the candidates' teeth in now, and getting it out of the way, than to have it start with whoever's the nominee a year from now.
I have no doubt that this is a hatchet job, but it will make the candidates stronger, and better prepped to deal with the true smear campaign that will start once we have a nominee.

Pathetic “Reality Show” format. Turned it off after 6 minutes. Serious thumbs down at Fox News

Yes, almost every question designed to set up Republicans against each other....no mention of the Democrat caused problems by the damned moderators. Good on Cruz, Rand and Walker for bringing it back around to that.

It’s “Let’s Beat The Crap Out Of Trump Night” on FOX.
I was hoping FOX would be more evenhanded (Eair and Balanced?) but that isn’t what I’m seeing.
It would be interesting to see a breakdown of how much time was spent playing “Gotcha” with Trump compared to how much time was spent giving serious questions to others, like Ben Carson.
It seems like there is a great imbalance.

NO NO NO....a Republican debate SHOULD be from the CONSERVATIVE TEMPLATE.....NOT the LEFTY beltway perspective.
And what happens when one of those candidates, having gained the nomination thanks to debates using a "Conservative template", goes into a debate that's run from a "Lefty beltway perspective"?
It's an easy question to answer, because we saw it with Romney and Candy Crowley in 2012.
You NEVER prep for waging a war against yourself. You prep for waging the war you think you are going to FIGHT. And you do that by simulating the war you think you are going to fight.
Again, Fox may be doing a hatchet job here, but they are doing the candidates, and Conservatives, a service by putting them through the wringer.
To: tanknetter
your analogy is all flawed....the debates last time around were FROM THE LIBERAL PERSPECTIVE during the primary season.
But Mitt was the wrong nominee.....Newt would not have fallen for Candy’s stuff.

Watched most of it. Was a total waste ofvyime. A blatant hit job on Trump and failed attempt to b oost another stupid Bush Klan member, perhaps the dumbest one of the tribe. How did such stupid people become millionaires? How the hell did dopey daddy Bush become head of the CIA?
BUT I digress. Baier, Kelly and Wallace were so biased and nasty that the conservative candidates and Trump would have been better served by CNN.
SPARE yourself the trouble of watching any more of these clowning spectacles. As a matter of fact, stop watching FOX altogether. Murdock stinks.

Watched half, until I decided it was a RINO balls up.
Cruz did great, along with Ben Carson who was very impressive.
Trump was Trump, so he won. I liked Scott Walker. Sue me.

Trump is Hillary's wet dream in a debate, which is why so many Freepers, accustomed to angry defeat, adore his simplistic idiocy. The notion of an intelligent Republican candidate terrifies us! What are bona fides? What is a "bill?" How does a resume work? How am I superior to these major players? What IS the Constitution? These difficult issues play in favor of future presidents like Hillary... A fact which one must point out these days, but which serves no purpose whatsoever. So let it be said: SCREW THE ESTABLISHMENT! SCREW FOX! GO TRUMP! AND BOO TO ANOTHER EIGHT YEARS OF HILLARY!
