For me, it's easy: Ted Cruz.

We have waited for a conservative, articulate candidate like Cruz for over 30 years. He is everything we as conservatives have been looking for but unable to find.

And now here he is. But unfortunately, it's been so long since a conservative actually ran for President that people seem to have forgotten what one looks and sounds like. Someone literally told me last night on a thread that "the era of Reagan is over" and that it's "impossible" for a conservative to get elected POTUS.

Oh really? Name me the last Republican Nominee since Reagan that actually ran as a conservative?

The polls showing Trump "surging" for saying what people want to hear from their leaders should at a minimum give hope to the grassroots and the base that they still play the key role in the nominating contest. If Trump can get that high on words, then there's no reason that Cruz cannot either.

President Cruz has the potential to be one of the greatest Presidents in our history if given the chance because I believe he will set out to do what he has promised. And that's the deciding factor for Cruz getting to the White House and succeeding: TRUST.

Hopefully I'm not the only Cruz supporter left out here.

I hope when Don Trump steps out he starts a new news network.
I think that would be excellent.
If he goes all the way well, I hope he fires everyone in DC.

Whichever of the 2 can actually win elections.
Right now Trump is connecting better, so he is my choice.
If in future Cruz begins to elevate in polls, he would be my choice.

I am a fan of coach Lombardi who said,
“winning is not everything, it is the only thing”.

Without winning election, it is completely irrelevant,
how good or bad conservative the candidate is.
Because losers of election get to decide nothing.

Trump.

Cruz is an unknown to most voters.

If Cruz comes in as Trump’s VP he will become known.

I have supported the lesser known conservatives before.

I have seen how they are marginalized and shut out by the media and even their own party. I was one of those annoying Hunteristas!

I just knew if people heard his message they would get it.

I feel like Hunter was sort of shut out. And he was an unknown outside of this forum.

I was a very LIV when I first joined FR. I joined because I didn’t want to be a LIV anymore. I joined because FR values were the closest to mine and I had absolutely no idea who to vote for.

I knew politics was dirty, but I had no idea just how evil some of the players really are until I’d been here for a while.

Yikes!

There was a time when I thought universal health care was a good thing(Clinton)and would have voted for Clinton!

Thankfully, I didn’t start voting until years later when I had gotten older, wiser and more informed.

A coworker turned me on to conservative talk radio and I saw the right-um light. :)

Ever stir up a fish tank right before you clean it out? That’s Trump. He’s doing a great job at it and forcing these hacks to talk. Outside of that, he’s no conservative. Cruz all the way

Between Trump and Cruz, that’s easy - Cruz. I appreciate what Trump is bringing to the debate/primary discussion. But I believe Cruz would easily be the best President we’ve had in a long long time.

I like Trump, but Cruz is the real deal with a solid conservative record. He fought against Obama before it was cool. Trump's fun to watch and is good for a sound bite, but Cruz puts his money where his mouth is.

Cruz 2016

The main reason Trump is in the news so much,is because the media knows he will self destruct eventually, and hopefully run as an independent, thereby taking down the republicans. And hopefully they can paint his supporters as racist buffoons meanwhile.
Folks, I am sorry but that is simply the truth of why is receiving such constant coverage.
I will support Cruz.

Cruz.

And glad to see his broad support here. He is a true conservative.

Trump at least is paying lip service to the brand of conservatism we need in Washington. So I think I could support him in the general, but Cruz is my first, last, and only choice in the primary.

I would definitely vote for Ted Cruz. He has a proven record of principled conservative leadership and in my opinion is the most inspirational conservative political figure that we have had since Ronald Reagan.
