Donald Trump's Arrogance Is Outdated In Corporate America: Humility new hotness in the C-suite
The Huffington Post's Business Section ^ | July 20, 2015 | Emily Peck, Executive Editor, Business and Technology

Posted on 07/20/2015 9:58:54 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

After spending decades as Wall Street darlings, arrogant business leaders are out of fashion. The new hotness for CEOs these days? Displaying humility, self-awareness and honesty.

In this new world, a good leader doesn’t brag about his "TEN BILLION DOLLARS," as Donald Trump's campaign did last week. A good leader doesn’t rank his workers and fire the bottom 10 percent each year, as revered General Electric CEO Jack Welch did back in the day. The new CEOs project humility. They apologize when they screw up. They admit when they don’t know something, and they empathize with their workers and treat them decently.

Wild, right?

“You have to be real and authentic. It requires having strong character,” the former CEO of Medtronic, Bill George, told The Huffington Post. “The Donald Trumps of the world, they make it in politics, not business.”

Since declaring his intention to seek the Republican nomination for president last month, Trump has been out on the campaign trail, touting his leadership skills and experience. But for the most part, the business world has actually moved past his autocratic style. The shift has happened gradually over the past few years, in part because the financial crisis bred a deep mistrust for overly confident leaders and in part because social media has made it much easier to call out a boss for arrogance or wrongdoing....

effeminate hysterical diva like Trump

A strange configuration of words to describe someone who is none of those items. I am not above name calling. Your effort to paint the super macho, alpha dog, Trump with a rainbow brush is an idiotic distortion.

I see him more as “confident” than “arrogant”, as he’s able to make fun of himself. Bottom line: Women love confident men more than the milquetoast weenies we’re told to prefer.

The entire blog is “entertainment section”.

Perhaps it has dawned on them that Trump is staying in the race despite their snark.

Are you kidding me? Obama is the hype egomaniac of the century. Why does he not follow the rules set for “The Donald?”

Do you have any proof? Because I think you lost the definition of macho. He doesn't come off as any macho male I know, he comes off the opposite. Have you ever heard of say John Wayne or Ronald Reagan? They didn't act like run their mouth off in an hysterical fashion, yammering on and on. They were REAL MEN. Trump and his reality TV show-ethic is a step in the feminization of the American male. Real men don't act like Kardashian with constant inane chattering and constant "fueds" with everyone they can about the status pecking order. Please name a single manly man who acted like Trump. His constant bragging that reveals deep insecurities. Can you imagine Ronald Reagan getting into a twitter fight with Rosie O'Donnell? It would never happen, because he was real man. Real men shut their mouth more often than not.

And by the way, he looks like an old lady now. You'd think if he was running for president he could shell out for a testosterone patch. Are Americans going to vote for a girly man now that it's the age of Caitlyn Jenner?

HuffPo means homos, beta males, and simps are the type of guys you find mainly in crappy internet start-ups that make no money, while feminists are usually installed in the top spot (or in high positions) in order to look “progressive”.

Example: Reddit, HP, Facebook....HuffPo.

“You have to be real and authentic. It requires having strong character,”

And if you can fake that, you've got it made.

This is like telling William Shatner that he can win an Oscar if he didn't ham up his parts. Trump IS narcicism. He is most real when he doesn't hide it. If enough people think such a man is necessary to make a course correction, he will get support.

And it will be all on personality, as it was for Perot. That doesn't make him Perot, as Trump is not running third party.

This is totally backwards. It is the prissy other so-called candidates that operate daily from an emotional base and have been for years. It is patently obvious that linear and logical thought is missing in the District of Corruption.

A man who doesn’t have at least some alpha male confidence and the ability to shoot from the hip can never make it past middle management for any extended period of time.

Arrogance may be off-putting but meekness will not get you the brass ring in the corporate world..at least not outside of the left coast.

Show weakness, and you will be consumed. Show real unapologetic leadership, and be respected. This article is written by a wimpass, torque-brained liberal.

CEO’s showing such humility are malleable by the political organizations of the Left.
