Back in 2008 Barack Obama promised his supporters that he would not take their guns.
““I believe in the Second Amendment. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won’t take your handgun away… But I am not going to take your guns away. So if you want to find an excuse not to vote for me, don’t use that one because it just ain’t true. It ain’t true.”

But that was in 2008.
Now this…
Barack Obama is looking to ban Social Security recipients from owning guns as part of his new gun control policies.
FOX News reported:
“The Obama administration wants to keep people collecting Social Security benefits from owning guns if it is determined they are unable to manage their own affairs, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The push, which could potentially affect millions whose monthly disability payments are handled by others, is intended to bring the Social Security Administration in line with laws that prevent gun sales to felons, drug addicts, immigrants in the United States illegally, and others, according to the paper.
The language of federal gun laws restricts ownership to people who are unable to manage their own affairs due to “marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease” – which could potentially affect a large group within Social Security, the LA Times reported.
If Social Security, which has never taken part in the background check system, uses the same standard as the Department of Veterans Affairs – which is the idea floated – then millions of beneficiaries could be affected, with about 4.2 million adults receiving monthly benefits that are managed by “representative payees.”
The latest move is part of the efforts by President Obama to strengthen gun control following the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in 2012.

Gee maybe if theses folks are too incompetent to own guns they shouldn’t be able to vote either.
I predict a rash of dead people.
And also anyone over the age of 75 ....
Unable to manage own affairs — Does this include Obama and most Politicians that can’t manage the affairs of the Government? Always spending more than your income is not very good management!

“A side benefit of this ruling may be a million or so people who aren’t really disabled but taking the money because they are “depressed” after long periods of unemployment, getting off SSDI and going back to work. Or at least fewer people deciding that SSDI with SNAP (food stamps), discounted utilities, Medicaid, discounted phone and internet and so forth isn’t worth signing up for.”
Not to disparage anyone legitimately disabled, but there is a huge number of habitual “takers” who will not care what they have to give up. Freebies will trump security and/or independence every time.

Look for civil disobedence to grow and spread.
So be it. We the People have fewer effective and meaningful options to redress government abuses. Our centralized government is no longer one of, by, and for the productive, law-abiding citizens of this country.
