The late Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) was a member of the Ku Klux Klan and led the filibuster against the 1964 Civil Rights Act
Petitioning West Virginia Governor
To remove the name of the late Senator and Ku Klux Klan member Robert Byrd from the public space, road ways and government buildings (including schools).
Sign Petition
great line.
No. I don’t want to encourage the movement to rename structures or remove historical artifacts based on new found “sensitivities”, even throwing it back at them by removing one of their guys. This movement is stupid and wrong. Let’s not assist in giving it credibility.
Far be it for me to support R Byrd but if we continue down this road there will be no defense to not remove anything related to our founders and quite a bit of our history. In fact it will encourage outright attacks on all things white & Western.
Whites just need to get up off their knees and tell all the progressives and race agitators to GFT.
Because guess who they go after next....the Founding Fathers, who were slave holders.
Washington Redskins? Guess what, after they get rid of “Redskins” they’ll go after “Washington.”
Don't worry, the suggestion to remove Byrd's name is not going anywhere. The Democrat's and mainstream media will not allow that. The notion of holding Democrat Byrd to the supposed high standards of the Dem party is just some mischievous fun.
DITTO.
Include Al Gore Sr. And all the other democrats against civil rights in the fifties and sixties. May be one way for low info folks to learn some facts.
I thought Obama was already doing that by closing coal mines.
Good luck. As the chair of the Appropriations Committee he steered billions into West Virginia , earning him the nickname “King of Pork” and called himself “Big Daddy”.

Heh heh...
Also remove hundreds of other Jim Crow Democrat racists from history - - like Al Gore's father - Bill Clinton's mentor (William Fulbright) and all the other democrat racists.. George Wallace, Bull Conner, Fritz Hollings, etc etc etc.
Not just in cost of the actual work to do this either. They better review all of the grant funding documents for all of the projects that he funded with pork money before they start this massive public works project. It may violate their terms of the grants and then they would be required to refund the money back to the federal department where is was obtained from.
And any and all who voted for any bills he authored or co-signed, any and all who allowed the namings to take place, etc.
Then we’ll need to figure out how to punish all those who voted for him... the racist bastards!
