I agree. But to needlessly attack a new FReeper who has good intentions, is uncalled for. If you don’t like a harmless thread, ignore it.
It is counter productive to our cause to alienate an new ally.

As he walked in front of the Muslim leaders and raised the hand closest to them, with the finger and the rest of his fingers in the perfect way for that sign, he smiled while keeping his face forward, and they also smiled. I have seen that film in slow motion, and there was definite communication from him to them and them to him.
Look at the forth picture down on this link for a close up of the sign and his face and their faces. He is communicating and I think you will see/understand the communication in this picture. The article also explains the exact position of the fingers in this sign and Obama has it exactly right:

Excuse my ignorance but what’s a troll? Is there some sort of rule against my posting an article here? This is my first post in years on Free Republic. I feel like I’m missing something here.
OK, you’ve got me. Holding a finger up alone is not proof that a person is making a secret hand sign, but looking at this in context, I don’t think Obama was signalling the Muslim world leaders around him the picture that his soccer team is number one.

Yes, you are correct. This has already been covered and the first article that comes up on the link you posted was Snopes and they verify that this is a Muslim hand sign but they debunk theories from some people who think it is a gang sign. I never wrote that it is a gang sign, just a Muslim sign, in the context of his flashing it to Muslim world leaders in the photograph. I’m not saying a single finger lifted up in church or at a sports event would mean anything Muslim at all.
