Vanity: Those irritating "Pope Francis Said..." commercials on WMAL -- suggested action
7/14/15

I'm sure I'm not alone in being really sick of the saturation advertising by the left-wing group "Knights of St Francis" that is being broadcast on WMAL.

Here are a couple of suggestions:

Find another source for conservative talk. A couple of samples that have basically the same network shows as WMAL (though different local shows):

Take a moment and write the Advertising Manager for Cumulus DC: jake.mccann@cumulus.com.

I suggest that you use something like the following format (I am not giving you text to copy/paste in an email as form emails are never as effective as personal ones):

One spot is easy enough to ignore. Listening to the same irritating spot once an hour every hour gets on my nerves.

Yep. The battering with spots is trying to hit each pair of ears with 4 to 9 imprints over the campaign. (2 or 3 weeks) The morning drive format assumes that most people listen for one hour out of the four. Some of us leave it going and are condemned to extra doses.

One more thing. Ads in DC are often targeted at politicals, both in the administration and in Congress. Hence, there are some differences in Baltimore stations.

I just hit the mute button on my steering wheel when that commercial comes on. Just like I did for “kars for kids” and do for several other annoying commercials.
