$9000. In expenses, every year, what kind of car is that. Or are they figuring in fuel?

I bought an old Mercedes diesel for $100 11 years ago that I can’t kill. Other than fuel and liability insurance I pay nearly nothing.

I pay $200/month in gas $150/month in insurance, probably $300/month in maintenance. That’s almost $8,000/yr.

I drove 130 miles R/T in a 18MPG F150 for years. It never cost $750/month average. Never.

Author might be thinking insurance and car payment, too, though.

Per Dave Ramsey, the average car payment is around $500 a month.
$500/month car payment
$100/month insurance
$150/month gas

That’s $750/month, 9K a year
