“Thing is I don’t doubt they were fighting. If you want a fight with a guy wearing colors, he’ll give you the best you ever had. I believe the cops either overreacted and responded with weapon fire, when tear gas would have done, or they were ordered to do permanent damage because they were becoming too big, or too powerful.”

Did you ever undergo “tear gas” training, during your military service?

Do police (or military) usually respond to urban gun shootouts, with tear gas? Is that part of their doctrine?

Maybe the police should have just let them finish each other off, along with some patrons of the nearby restaurants and shops?

You know, we don’t want the police to “over react” when civilians start shooting at each other in shopping malls, do we?

I feel there is a good chance the unarmed ordained minister-biker, was going to step into the situation, and urge a peaceful result, but got caught in the middle of the fire.

That is a sad result, of violence. Crips, Bloods and MS13 shoot innocent kids, in their neighborhoods during their shootouts.

And likewise Bandidos may have shot an innocent biker. But it is the job of police, to stop the gun fight.

Maybe a ballot measure next time for Waco Texas:

“Proposition, should police use force, to stop the next gunfight at Twin Peaks Mall, between rival motorcycle club members,

Yes,
or No”

You know, that was my exact thought when I started reading this thread this morning.

You know what the difference is? Sure you do.

Police rarely, O.K. never, go shooting into a crowd whenever the Crips, Bloods or other street gangs become involved in a shooting. And they sure don’t go arresting the nearest 200 around.

Why do you suppose that is?

Ok. One question. Based on this:

Waco police rarely dispatched to Twin Peaks prior to biker shootout, records reveal.
http://news.yahoo.com/waco-police-rarely-dispatched-to-twin-peaks-prior-to-biker-shootout-records-reveal-015135212.html

How was it that a fully armed SWAT/ATF team happened to be there one day, at the time that the Cossacks showed up to a lawful meeting of this groups political arm?

I have undergone NBC training, though not a Veteran.

Police didn’t respond, they were already there.

Maybe the police panicked, and fired first.

They weren’t in a mall. Twin Peaks was a stand alone parcel.

I never asserted anything about the minister, except he was unjustly arrested in violation of Freedom of association.

Yep Crips, Bloods, MS-13 wonder why the cops are never there to stop that violence?

Better question, Shouldn’t the cops have stopped the violence the second they see the Cossacks pull up, or wait until a fight is started so they have a reason to arrest a bunch of “scary looking guys”.

Here’s another one for you. Your at a gathering with friends. a guy comes up and attacks you. You’re sure the guy’s gonna kill you or cause serious bodily harm. You draw your legal weapon, and shoot the guy. Do the cops have the right to shoot you dead on the spot because they suspect you or your friends MAY have committed a crime in the past? Or would that be a violation of your right to Due Process?
