It was a milestone month for FCA.
For the first time ever, Chrysler has outsold Ford in US retail sales, reports Reuters.
Retail sales refers to only cars sold directly to consumers, not counting sales of fleet vehicles to corporate customers. Including fleet sales, Ford moved 223,666 cars and Fiat Chrysler group sold 186,864. General Motors, meanwhile, saw sales slip slightly year over year and sold 265,825 cars.
For the industry as a whole, it was another good month as car sales continue to go up. 2015 is expected to see even more growth in car sales, as the market continues its recovery from the historic low it saw in the aftermath of the credit crisis.
I just looked it up and they stretched the wheelbase and vehicle width to make the Dart. They almost had to, as the Giulietta is a 5 door hatch and the Dart is a 4 door sedan (or a “saloon car” as they say in europe).

The old days of just rebadging the same vehicle are mostly over. Automakers are pretty adept at differentiating models built on the same platform to the point where the feel of the different models can be, if desired, radically different.
I'd love to see a new GTO come out (yeah, I know, Pontiac Motor Division is dead), but with a modernized version of the Ram Air V (yes, V, NOT IV) engine. Butler Performance up in Tennessee has one that produces over 500 horses on pump gas, with over 700 available with not too much in modifications (and still on pump gas). But anyway, PMD won't be resurrected, and I wouldn't buy any new Communist Motors products at this point anyway. I guess that I'll have to modify an old Goat and put that Ram Air V engine into it.
