It is really. Even being the pessimist I am I am surprised. I won’t say I’m shocked but I am surprised by the silence by our side. I thought there would have been token resistance from the GOP but Recies pieces was out the door immediately capitulating and calling for moving on.

So it’s really no surprise at all in hindsight.

the lack of resistance goes back to 2001 - and lasted all eight Bush years, lasted throughout the McCain and Romney campaign’s - only some scattered Republican resistance and push back in some 2009 elections, the 2010 mid terms, and in ‘14. But even in victory, no push back in DC.
