Ya beat me to it. I was gonna say Bill Bruford. Interesting you say Chester Thompson. Been listening to a bunch of Zappa when he was there. Saw him with Genesis in Atlanta, many years ago.

Libertarian supports Democrats?
I think he’s done too many drugs. Shut up and play drums, Neil.

Had one of his sets at my house for about a year n a half.
It was the red maple Tama set with the timbalis on the left side. SWEET b1tchin set. Then we needed the room back.
Now I have a 10-piece Pearl set, on a rack, with tons of cymbals and double bass pedals on a single kick drum.
Have to practice when nobody is home. :-(

I always thought The Trees was Peart’s cautionary tale. Turns out it was his hope for our future.

Now Stuart Copeland moves to my 1 favorite spot.
Although Peart’s lyrics are incredible.

I think sting is a blithering idiot. But really like Copeland as a drummer.

I do too, I don’t think he is in the same league as many others. JMO, likes and dislikes are all to personal tastes.

Many “Libertarians” are just liberals in disguise.

It was. Perhaps that is why they don’t play it live anymore.
I love the music of RUSH (hence my name), but in response to Peart’s political (and to me - even worse - his religious views) all I can say is, in the immortal words of Alex Lifeson:
.
.
“Blah blah blah blah blah. Blah Blah. Blah...........”

In the back of my mind I always wondered if it was the desired outcome or a caution against collectivist mob rule. Now we know...he supports mob rule.

So now he’s a looter. Wish I hadn’t seen this. But the music remains great.

Rush had a drummer?
Couldn’t get my ears past that screechy caterwauling Geddy Lee.
