GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump says he was too critical of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush during his formal campaign launch earlier this week.
Trump says he now regrets swinging so hard at Bush, a 2016 White House rival, during his own campaign kickoff Tuesday from New York Citys Trump Tower.
I actually saw myself a couple of days ago and I said, thats, thats too rough, Trump told host Jake Tapper in an interview airing Sunday on CNNs State of the Union."
I really think hes a nice man, I think hes a wonderful man, he said.
I actually felt bad because I hit him very hard one day like two days ago, three days ago, and I said, Why am I hitting him so hard?' "
But even though he has admiration for Bush, Trump still does not think the former Florida governor qualifies for the White House.
He said battling the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) was one area where he would outperform Bush if elected to the executive mansion next year.
I dont know if I want him negotiating with ISIS, Trump said of Bush.
I think Trump will do a lot better, he told Tapper, adding that the Bush campaign takes him very seriously. You think so, too, but youre not going to say it.
Trump entered the GOPs 2016 field one day after Bush did the same thing during a campaign launch on Monday in Miami.
The New York business mogul sharply criticized Bush during his own 2016 announcement Tuesday.
I dont see how he can get the nomination, Trump said, according to CNN.
Hes weak on immigration and he supports Common Core, he added. How the hell can you vote for this guy?
Trump also touted aggressive jobs creation as part of his political platform during his speech Tuesday.
I will be the greatest jobs president God ever created, I can tell you that, he said.
Trump previously teased a 2012 presidential campaign before ruling against it later that year.
He has vowed that his run next election cycle will make America great again.
He talks about himself in the 3rd person; is that normal for him?
Too hard on the bush?
Great stuff.
Every time someone post’s a thread attempting to mock Trump, it turns into a pro-Trump thread.
And vice-versa.
Although I am at odds (to say the least) with all three Bush’s ways of doing things politically, I also regard all of them as personally likeable.
I never thought I’d say it about Jeb, but after seeing him on Hannity one night, he has that same Bush quality.
I understand why The Donald had some regrets.
Backtracking and apologizing is going to kill that appeal.
Jeb Bush may be a nice man. He might even make a nice ambassador to Mexico. Or a president of Mexico.
It would be nice if someone would fix the $h*+hole of a country so everyone doesn't want to leave. That's the real source of our illegal immigration problem.
25% of Mexico's population is already here. Most of the remaining 75% want to come, mostly to places like California, which already has 1.6 times the population density of Mexico.
We should do a military occupation of the northern 25% or so of the country and make it pleasant enough that honest Mexicans can earn an honest living. Shoot the drug smugglers. Hang the corrupt politicians. Make English a second official language there sort of like Spanish has become in California. Then work out a trade of Americans who want to loaf around for Mexicans who want to work. Give it a generation or so and North Mexico would cease to be a third world country.
Still running his “campaign” without filing with the FEC.
LoL!
☺
Ward Cleaver Trump showing he is a wuss.
Next week he will do a 180 on everything he said this week.
I dont know if I want him negotiating with ISIS, Trump said of Bush.
Damning with faint praise.
“Still running his campaign without filing with the FEC.”
So? Hillary has been. Why play by any rule your opponent doesn’t?
Clinton filed on April 13th.
Number 156 on the list.

Clinton had been running her campaign for years, hence the “Clinton Foundation”.
Looks to me like Trump has made his first big blunder. Look at the polls. Right after his announcement Walker’s support eroded, indicating to me a lot of Walker supporters were viewing Trump favorably. Jebbie is anathema to Walker/Cruz supporters and Trump’s attack on Jebbie is what appealed to the wafflers. Now a bit of glitter is falling off the Trump bus.
