our average left-winger agrees with this stuff and thinks Sanders is a genius
Just as an exercise in curiosity, Im going to try to think like a socialist. And since I really have no earthly idea how socialists come up with the ideas they embrace, Im going to let Bernie Sanders get me rolling. Tell me, Bernie, your thoughts on economic growth:
The whole size of the economy and the GDP doesnt matter if people continue to work longer hours for low wages and you have 45 million people living in poverty. You cant just continue growth for the sake of growth in a world in which we are struggling with climate change and all kinds of environmental problems. All right? You dont necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants or of 18 different pairs of sneakers when children are hungry in this country. I dont think the media appreciates the kind of stress that ordinary Americans are working on. People scared to death about what happens tomorrow.
So let me see if I have this straight: Children are hungry, and hungry people need food, but there isnt enough food for them because, instead of producing food, 23 different companies are making spray deodorant, and 18 different companies are making sneakers. Why, they could be producing food!

Hey Bernie! On your collective farm you would only have one deodorant to choose from, you’d have to stand in long lines to get it on a certain day of the week, and you would still starve.
Ask any USSR resident.
This is why liberalism’s the pits.
They thought like that in Cambodia in the 70s. 4 million people died.
L
We don’t need bloated public sector salaries and gold-plated retirement packages when there are pot holes in the roads.
Two can play that game.
If they could cut back to 22 deodorant choices, think of the children that would feed! /snort
Bernie is good buds with Ben & Jerry (ice cream). Funny how he never mentions how many flavors they have, or how many hungry kids could be fed if they had fewer flavors.
In Bernie’s world, only one flavor is needed: Strawberry (red). Even Chocolate and Vanilla are bad, because they are inherently racist flavors.
That’s actually more relevant than his stupid emotional appeal.
It’s not like Unilever is going to start setting up farms if they got rid of their deodorant line.
Besides, I thought leftists believed agro-businesses like Monsanto were demonic monsters who preyed on the innocent by peddling tainted food.
I read somewhere, several years ago, that Hillary — not too long after she married Bubba and moved to Arkansas — was waxing indignant that she was not being accepted by the good folks in Arkansas. Some pundit answered the question, as follows: “Perhaps if she shaved her underarms and used deodorant she would be more acceptable.”
Great thread and a Stinkin’ Socialist ALERT!
He needs to get the poor and homeless voting. I seriously doubt current senators and representatives of either party know what percentage of their constituents are going hungry either.
BS needs to sent in all of his dough for the FEDs to parcel out. Problem solved.....
Maybe they should be forced to make edible deodorant.
Hell, kids wouldn’t even need to pack a lunch for school if they have a long tongue.
You win!!!
Sanders anti-choice, one size fits all mentality is not surprising for a left-winger.
Sure, we just need all the people who make 22 of the deodorant brands to lose their jobs. And Bernie Sanders can decide which brand survives that people don’t want. We can have one of everything who needs any choices?
BTW am I the only one who thinks Bernie Sanders is borderline mentaly retarded? He looks and sounds like an imbecile.
Does a liberal brain understand it?
I sure don't.
It sounds like an old codger saying "we can put a man on the moon, but we can't get Dapper Dan pomade here in Omaha!"
Third world nations go hungry because dictators care more about lining their pockets.
I would add to that: Local war lords/party hacks/Union bosses use food as leverage.
Tribal fighting makes farming sporadic or impossible.
Inept and/or corrupt bureaucracy manages to make essential tools, supplies, seeds, spare parts either unavailable, grossly expensive or too late to do any good.
Of course, all of these were implied in your first statement. Absolutely correct!
jeepers. Bernie has never been on a tram in Germany during the summer. Eeeewwwwwww.
