illegal because it was based on finding a knife on Freddie Gray. Mosby asserted that the knife was legal under Maryland law. However, as Branca points out, there are often differences between city and state regulations:
Indeed, the City of Baltimore has adopted as an ordinance its City Code §59-22, which states in relevant part:Freddie Gray had a long rap sheet.
Switch-blade knives. (a) Possession or sale, etc., prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, carry, or possess any knife with an automatic spring. Thus (and again assuming Grays knife was spring-assisted, as widely reported), even if Mosby is correct (unlikely) that the knife was legal under Maryland state law, it would still arguably have been illegal under Baltimore code §59-22.

"Second-degree depraved heart murder"
Second-degree murder is the killing of another person while acting with an extreme disregard for human life. In order to convict the defendant of second-degree murder, the State must prove: (1) that the defendant caused the death of (name); (2) that the defendant's conduct created a very high risk to the life of (name); and (3) that the defendant, conscious of such risk, acted with extreme disregard of the life-endangering consequences.Involuntary Manslaughter
Involuntary manslaughter often refers to unintentional homicide from criminally negligent or reckless conduct. It can also refer to an unintentional killing through commission of a crime other than a felony.I'm not a lawyer but I think these are going to be a tough sell, both on their face and because of other complications. A couple of things Mosby said rang alarms in my head. First:The subtleties between murder and manslaughter reach their peak with involuntary manslaughter, particularly because an accidental killing through extreme recklessness can constitute second degree murder.
I heard your call for 'No justice, no peace.'And it seems Mosby answered that call rather than answer the call of justice.
Second:
Your peace is severely needed as I work to deliver justice on behalf of Freddie Gray.Mosby sounds as if she has an agenda and I think I know what it is. Rather than getting "justice for Freddie Gray" Mosby should be seeking justice. Period.
Third:
Mosby promised transparency but then refused to release her evidence.

She’s bending to the wind. That’s all.
"Gray was not belted in, said attorney Michael Davey, who represents at least one of the officers under investigation."
"Commissioner Anthony Batts said there are no circumstances under which a prisoner should not be wearing a seatbelt during transport."
Interesting that this isn't the first death as a result of a Baltimore nickel ride: "But if it happened on the way to the station, it wouldn't be the first such injury in Baltimore: Dondi Johnson died of a fractured spine in 2005 after he was arrested for urinating in public and transported without a seat belt, with his hands cuffed behind his back."
Hope the city has deep pockets...
I bet this falls apart within a couple of weeks because the prosecutor is as dumb as the criminals she’s supposed to be going after.
What a miscarriage of justice
No evidence points to a so-called nickel ride at this point.
Mosby spelled backwards is Nifong.
Actually she is a lefty an outright commie and is just trying to overthrow the system so the DiC’s boys can be safe from the police
the mattet of the crushed larynx remains unresolved. If his larynx was crushed and his neck was broken in multiple places , it will be difficult to impossible to blame this death on a random protruding bolt.
What is your source of illegally arrested???
she’s going to wind up like nifong; disbarred and in prison.
Forty-five minutes to go 4-5 blocks? Sure.
She’ll eventually recuse herself. She almost has to. Besides, I don’t think anybody in their right mind would kick off a political career by prosecuting 6 cops who to varying degree killed Freddie Gray accidently.
I’m jumping in the middle of this so excuse me if I get it out of context.
The DA said herself “Illegal Arrest” and I don’t believe there is such a beast. It’s called kidnapping.
Dobson did NOT like Juan McPain (not my favor choice either), however, for that reason the Evangelical Christians sat out the election (”selection”) and Hussein Soetoro just illegally sailed into the W.H.
Words sometimes have consequences Mr. Dobson!!!
The word tungsten comes from the Swedish language tung sten directly translatable to heavy stone, though the name is volfram in Swedish to distinguish it from Scheelite, which in Swedish is alternatively named tungsten.
I hope that clears you up a bit.
Seems you keeping the head in the sand referring to Dobson!!!
You trying to teach a former Swedish citizen of the language he speaks fluently, as his second language out of four, even more laughable!!!
