I saw The Doobie Brothers and Don Felder (Eagles) last night and they still sound great.
Eagles are my all-time favorite. I never get tired of listening to them. I'm a believer in rock keeping us young!
Rush
Meh, you guys are a bunch of old farts....
Saliva, Disturbed, Godsmack, Live, Pearl Jam, Audioslave...
Only way to go....
And I’m a 62 yr old Boomer....so check them out.
I started liking The Cure after the Apple commercial using “Pictures of You”...nice.
Mark Farner!
New Order. The most influential band no one has ever heard of...
regards,
Never heard of them. LOL
They performed that last night, of course. They can still jam, but I don’t know how many originals are in the band now.
Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Genesis (pre-80’s, pre-Abacab)
Van Morrison
Leonard Cohen
King Crimson (early 80’s incarnation)
I’ll bet you have and didn’t even know it...

“I’m Your Captain (Closer to Home)” is a great song...though I’m feeling mighty sick.
I always thought Mark Farner wrote it but I’ve read the GREAT Larry Carlton actually wrote this song.
...”later came to find out Don Henley was a rabid liberal...”
That’s what did it for me, too, re the Eagles. IIRC, The Eagles were to play for an event for big lib politician Alan Cranston. One of the members, (Felder?), made a negative comment about it or something similar. Henley immediately flew into a rage and the band member was outta there. Henley is the worst; I guess Frey is about as bad.
I think this story was told in a TV documentary covering their most recent reunion concert, maybe 3-5 years ago.
I’ve heard of them, don’t underestimate, they were popular with the ‘90s crowd. Popular with recruits, certainly.
But anyway, I say, what’s old is new, Europe and good parts of the US are in a rockabilly revival, I’ll go with that, fine music. I don’t need the Betty Page pinup stuff....

Their Pre-Cursor, Joy Division, was a huge influence on 80s music.
Heck today that's considered "Old Fart" music.
There is only one, The Beatles.
True that. I made the assumption that if folks didn’t know New Order, they certainly weren’t going to know Joy Division!
regards,
Would there be a Beatles with no Elvis? No, John Lennon himself said that.
this
There is only one, The Beatles.
