Cruz, whose father immigrated to the United States from Cuba, said there is no stronger advocate for legal immigration in the U.S. Senate than himself. He cited his support for an amendment to the Gang of Eights 2013 comprehensive immigration reform bill to expand the number of H-1B visas.
According to Cruz middle class IT jobs are jobs Americans won't do. If you have an IT job you can keep your IT job. Sorry but I cannot support a candidate who will spell the economic ruin of myself and my family.
Gee.....maybe the welfare folks could work...instead of sitting on their duffs, dealing drugs, making babies and running...rioting....
There’s a surprising phrase being repeated from the Conservative right lately, “No such thing as an American Job”.
He is proposing increasing the yearly total from anywhere between 65,000 to 300,000 based on need alone.
Please tell me how that hurts US born/citizen engineers.

When Cruz was asked what to do with the illegals currently here he replied: “When it comes to immigration, I dont think you have to solve every issue all at once”.
No, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t explain what you intend to do eventually, does it? Especially when you’re running for President?
Of course, we all know why he didn’t want to address that particular issue. No matter how he answers it, he’ll lose votes, either from Hispanics or from the part of the GOP base that won’t tolerate any form of amnesty whatsoever.
As I’ve said several times before, no candidate for the GOP nomination will come out against all forms of amnesty. Not one. Cruz didn’t duck the ethanol question in Iowa, but he’s sure trying to duck this one.
That’s not an indictment of his answer, by the way. It was a cagey way out of the dilemma. Just answer a different question: “Is the country ready to deal with the illegals already here?” instead of “What would you like to see done with them if you’re elected?”
Incidentally, I like Cruz. It’s the insistence on “no amnesty” that I think is overdone.
Wake up Cruz apologists! This H1B position means he’s in the pocket of big business.
I’m happy to let Cruz explain his ideas on H1 visas. I doubt he is advocating putting more middle class Americans out of work. I think what he is advocating is making sure that the people who do immigrate here legally are educated and productive and bring something positive to our country.
Guess I'll be voting Constitution Party next fall.
You are a hack. The headline at the site says:
Cruz: I Am a ‘Proponent of Immigration Reform’
Accuses Obama of using issue to “scare the Hispanic community.”

And on top of that you are only trying to guide an emotional perception and completely dismissing political strategy and hope of true immigration reform starting with actual border control!!!
