Those carbines will launch a 125gr 9mm at 1450fps.

Just like a .357 from a 4inch barrel.

But it's true the .357 is more effective. After all, the 9mm is ONLY .355!

I’m surprised that there hasn’t been a bunch of posts knocking hi point. Not everyone has a high dollar budget for firearms. But, better to have a hi point in hand than needing one and not having it.
For the money, they serve their purpose adequately.

The carbine has a 16.5 inch barrel. According to BBTI, (Ballistics by the Inch) a .357 Magnum from a 4" barrel with their test ammo is 1496fps. Their test ammo of 9mm from a 16.5 inch barrel is 1430fps. (.357Mag from a 16" barrel is 2119fps, which is what the suggestion was)

Sure you could call that pretty close. You could also say that you have a carbine that is out performed by pistol.

A.357 with a 16 in barrell and 125 gr can best 2000fps. Thats a whallop
