The carbine has a 16.5 inch barrel. According to BBTI, (Ballistics by the Inch) a .357 Magnum from a 4" barrel with their test ammo is 1496fps. Their test ammo of 9mm from a 16.5 inch barrel is 1430fps. (.357Mag from a 16" barrel is 2119fps, which is what the suggestion was)

Sure you could call that pretty close. You could also say that you have a carbine that is out performed by pistol.

Not going to outperform the sight radius, and you’re going to get much closer to .357 magnum performance if you use 9mm +P ammunition.

Rember is the high end shotgunners that sell out other gun owners first, politically that is.

if you want to go classic .357 revolver and lever actions are common too.
