More importantly, Marco Rubio is a stalking horse for the Jebster.
What difference, at this point, does it make?
In post-Constitutional America anything goes for the elite.
The rules apply only to the peasantry.
An anchor baby is when you use any means possible at the last minute,to drop your baby on this side of the border, such as sneaking in, or flying in pretending to be on vacation, so that you can drop your baby here, as an anchor baby, it does not mean coming in legally and having normal family growth.
That isn’t the situation with Rubio, he is not an anchor baby.
No. From Wikipedia (not the world’s best source for anything but...):
“Rubio was born in Miami, Florida,[2] the second son and third child of Mario Rubio and Oria Garcia. His parents were Cubans who had immigrated to the United States in 1956 and were naturalized as U.S. citizens in 1975”
But wasn’t he born in ‘71?
After the Kenyan, I wish they would make it three generations in.
Vitter tried to get an amendment into the Trafficking bill, but didn’t get any traction.

Since his parents were legal immigrants at the time, little Marco would not technically be considered an anchor baby. His parents didn’t have the need to use their citizen-baby as reason not to be deported.
True, but the child of lawful permanent residents is not an Anchor Baby in the usual understanding of it - where people use the kid’s citizenship to stay.
It was already 15 years later, and they were almost certainly able to stay either by being ordinary immigrants or treated under Cuban Refugee exemptions.
Mexicans have bitched forever at the “special treatment” Cubans get, but one thing you can say about Mexico...it isn’t run by a Soviet Stooge, just a succession of utterly contemptible criminals and thieves.
Personally, as I’ve said before, Rubio should take his parents and family BACK to Cuba. Be rid of him and them. Maybe with Obama normalizing relations, this will be easy return. This Cuba now okay according to Obama, no reason for Rubio and his family to remain in the US. He could help change Cuba.
I think he has lots of closets, that should be opened
That was a great trial balloon that we did NOT support enough.
Now the Republican “leadership” is able to say it doesn’t have a lot of support, so why push it?
But it’s the key to the whole problem.
no he is not. His parents were Cuban refugees escaping a communist prison government.
That is ABSOLUTELY right, and the logic came from an Amicus Curiae brief by Ed Meese and John Eastman in the Hamdi case.
Means Vitter is getting GOOD advice on the issue, because that is the thing to zero in on.
There should be a massive groundswell to support him.
Exactly, “anchor baby” is intended to penetrate into America and it’s system, when you are not legally entitled to by other means.
This has come up about Jindal as well, whose mother was pregnant when they came here.
His parents were here legally, but not as immigrants, the wife was pregnant with Bobby when they arrived, the father was very reluctant to accept the (wifes) scholarship in the first place, but was talked into coming to America so that she could accept it.
Bobbys Mother;
Raj was the daughter of a bank manager. She first came to America on a scholarship to study for her doctorate in nuclear physics at Louisiana State University.
Bobbys father;
Though the university health plan denied coverage for the birth (it was ruled a preexisting condition), the one-month paid maternity leave was awarded as promised that was the perk that had tipped the scales for Amar, whod been hesitant to leave home, having worked his way up through the ranks to the respected position of assistant professor of engineering at Punjab University in Chandigarh, the newly dedicated capital city of their home state.
They left during Batista’s regime, not Castro’s.
No, he’s not.
Next question?
“Since Marco Rubio was born in the U.S. to the parents that were not U.S. citizens, does that make him an anchor baby?”
I don’t think so, because his parents weren’t here illegally, they came as refugees.
Don't care.
I still won't vote for him.
